Hello everyone!
I have a kind of technical question for those of you that
use Wordpress...
I want to list 'child pages' in my site's pages, so when a
visitor clicks in any of my site's sections (pages) he/she will
see the child pages listed...
How do I change the code for that? I have found that this resource
seems to work but I haven't been able to edit it the right way.
Has anyone else experienced this situation?
Thanks in advance!
Cesar

Re: Wordpress Coding Question
Hey Cesar,
I don't understand exactly how you want those child pages to be seen... do you want the child pages to drop down from the parent page in the nav bar?
If that is the case... my theme has that function built in. If you'd like a copy of it send me a PM and I'll email it to you.

Re: Wordpress Coding Question
.
Maybe this will help you Cesar ...
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pag ... reenshots/
*That link is directly to the WP Plugin catalog and linked to the screenshot tab so you can see exactly how it looks.
This adds a pagination widget to your sidebar.
The unique feature is that when a visitor is on a page it will display the child pages associated with it in a static menu. When the visitor goes to another page only child pages associated with the page they are on are displayed. So if there are no child pages, then all you see are the root pages in the menu.
As for hard coding it into the page template, if that's what you want to do, then yes, you'd have to manipulate at the code level which is a little harder to answer because a lot has to do with the theme you are using and just how much flexibility you would have based on its core code.
But see if that plugin can help first ... getting in the code can be a pain.

Re: Wordpress Coding Question
If you want to list subpages on the parent page just do a search in your WordPress Plugin's "Add New" for "List subpages"
Lots of good plugins there.

Re: Wordpress Coding Question
If you are using WP 3.0 then the ability to have child pages appear in your Navigation menu is built in. If you aren't seeing that option, you may want to upgrade your site to WP 3.0.
If you are talking about your sidebar area then you probably just need to select a plug-in that can give you a special widget that you can place in your sidebar.
Personally, I like this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/hie ... reenshots/
Good luck
