Kevin, I am new here also. What has impressed me about this group is how classey they have addressed your concerns. I want to learn from this group...

I have received the same type of requests and messages from Cliff and Wendell. This is better networking, right?
They both offered a friendly message, link to their website and free advice. No harm, right?
I do understand where Kevin is coming from and I really like his approach, calling people out. The only advice would be to Cliff. Thank you for the welcome, the free advice, the link to your site. But...one message is fine, did you have to send me three messages?? Cliff: I give you props for stating your case and not backing down. Also, after the initial contact with any of the accused, I have not received any additional messages and personally don't have a problem with the welcome message.
I did recently purchase MS and BBR, and the material is life changing for the Network Marketer. Especially if you been struggling and to have a community of marketers, successful or not willing to lend a hand to help better you is priceless.
To those who do let to send out their warm welcome message to us "newbies", make us want to click your page...what's that called Magnetic Marketing, good stuff :)

To your success,

No one is disagreeing with Kevin's crude behavior. I think it just brought out some of the issues up here where some people are not following business promotion rules around here.

Promoting your business should be limited to your signature at the bottom of the page and your Personal Profile. There should not be any threads started or guestbooks with web links on it.

I know everyone is wanting to make some money in this slow economy but there's no need to throw the rulebook out into the sea....

I have been spammed too and what I'm finding out on this site is no one has an opportunity to offer only ways to make money if you have a business, just seems odd. I'm just looking for customers for my business I don't push my opportunity because it takes a unique person to do what I do. It won't be long before all these "how to make money easy" business go out of business the industry just can't sustain this type of stuff for long. At some point you have to find a good business with a good product that no one else has if you want to make it. Steve Tarini-Amsoil Dealer

Shaun the other meaning of "wood" refers to the male anatomy.
I also found it humorous in two ways, because I didn't know what
you were talking about.
It's closely related to another word, to "put down" other guys

cool
Thanks for clearing that up for me Stephen...thats pretty funny. Here in Australia the expression is definitely "touch wood" and it has none of the connatations you've just mentioned.
Actually this reminds me how I used to have an American Pilates teacher and one day she loudly instructed us all, as part of a series of moves, to "Push your Fannies Out! " . This immediately made everyone stop and the room went dead silent, then everyone burst into laughter. As an American she had no idea what she had just said and she had the most "lost" look on her face because she didnt know why everyone was laughing. I informed her she had just proudly instructed everyone to "Push Their Vaginas Out"..she was mortified, but very funny to us!

Funny how different words/phrases have different meanings around the world.
Also funny how different "ways" of communicating are interpreted differently.
For instance the "pirate guy" here on this thread, as i like to call him, has been described as crude. I dont find him crude at all, I just find him very direct and he says what he thinks...maybe he's an Aussie.

Forums and Online Marketing are forcing us all to be a little more international in our outlook and communication I think. This forum makes me mindful of that in particular because it can be quite difficult being "foriegn" on a majoritively American forum. I definitely feel I cannot communicate in a way that I would on an Aussie forum.

Food for thought me thinks !
