Brand New To MLM....Advice?

Postby Michelle Bast on Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:56 pm

Hello all!

I am brand new to the whole MLM world and so far I am really enjoying the learning process. However, I could really use some advice on my first steps. I don't yet know enough to be an authority so I don't think I can do a blog yet. I am reading everything I can get my hands on at the moment about attraction marketing but don't yet know the first real step in implementing these ideas. Although, I have purchased a domain name. Any advice on the next step (such as the whole autoresponder thing) would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge!

Hi Michelle,

Have you started with your sponsor he/she should have something in place to get you some basic training. If not try reaching out to someone else in your upline, if that does not work. I would suggest you start with building a foundation around your company and products/services you offer. To to that get The Fifth Principle by Michael Clouse along with the Recipe for Success there are many trainers out there, all are good the key is to choose a few see what they have to offer if you like what they have to say after you have tried it than stick with them or continue until you find one that works. Once you are ready to start building a team Randy Gage offers a great getting started cd that will lay out what you should be doing it is also recommended that you share this cd with your team as well as you build. More on that here.

I would also suggest you check out Danijohnson.com as well she offer some free stuff at her site she is good as well again don't take my word try them for yourself. good luck

Wow, Great questions there Michelle.

I'm sure you'll get many varying answers on that particular subject here.

Just take your time to check everything out out there and decide for yourself what is best AFTER you have a vision and specific goal of what you would like to accomplish in the industry that can work for you.

You will have to think about many things at some point in time, like your unique selling propostion, best marketing strategies for YOU, and how you want to put everything together.

There are a lot of personalities you can choose to follow out there that you will naturally gravitate towards and benefit from their leadership, but don't expect all the answers from one particular person in general, unless they have networked with a lot of top industry earners.
To learn WHY your upline may not be sharing the SECRETS of Multiple Streams of Income, or for PROFESSIONAL networking training visit Creating Time and Space From Andrew Gallagher's Wealth Training Mastermind Blog.

Michelle,

First of all, congratulations for joining this wonderful industry. You are in for the ride of your life!

Network Marketing is definitely a business of relationships and people, it's not about the products. I recommend taking the time to learn about people, what makes them tick, their likes and dislikes etc. If you will study people, then you are in a position to be successful regardless of what network marketing company you represent now or into the future.

And i agree 100% with previous comments, you need to plug into a system that will provide you the necessary training and that also will be duplicatable for your team. Nobody has all the answers and its only thru the power of a mastermind group that you will be able to fully reach your potential.

Oh, and one last thing, be sure to spend time working on yourself. Take 30mins minimum each day and read a self development book or such. As we become more, so we are able to give more to others and offer greater value.

Feel free to drop me a line @ anytime :)

Michelle, the only advice I would like to give you right now...is to please remember that Rome was not built in a day!

Too many newcomers to the industry quit before they have even given their business a chance. You will need to give this new business of yours diligent, persistent & careful nurturing for at least a year before you are likely to see real results, not 90 days as you may have been told, or seen on the 'net somewhere.

Better Networker is a place you can turn to for the answers to the dozens of questions you are going to have - make use of the expertise available to you.

Always remain positive, keep learning & applying what you learn, master one thing before jumping into another, try & not let yourself become overwhelmed by information overload & believe that your business is already successful. Keep doing what is required of you & it certainly will be!

Welcome to our world.

Hi Michelle,

Welcome to BN and the world of MLM. I know at some point you are overwhelmed with the informations related to mlm especially informations about how to build and succeed in mlm. Just always remember the basics that success in this industry comes down to TWO things:

1.) Becoming a Leader to others by increasing your value. (You do that thru education)
2.) The ability to express your Value to prospects through Marketing.

Believe you already have what you want, before it will happen. Learn marketing, copywriting and direct response techniques. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

I'm surprised no one has said this already, but you are in a Marketing business!!!!

If you have no idea where to start then you have been reading the wrong things.

Sure, you should learn about people, relationships, self development, etc... but none of that is going to directly bring you a paycheck. Focus some of your attention and training on marketing.

Michelle,

When deciding on an auto responder I suggest either Icontact or Aweber. Both sites allow you to try them out for a trial period before committing to the full monthly subscription. During your subscription period they both give you a vast amount of tutorials for you to learn from in order to use them effectively. They both walk you through the whole process of creating a list, emails and web forms.

As you are learning about your self during your journey as marketer, entrepreneur and a sponsor you may think that you don't know enough to pass yourself as an expert. But, by you undertaking your journey of discovery you are vastly ahead of anyone else that doesn't know how to make it in your industry. I recommend that you look at a few blogs from some of the members here on BN. Preferably from some of the more active members, and subscribe to a few that you relate to and get a feel for how they speak to their audience. Then you'll start to formulate and relate your own experiences into words that you can later use for you blog. So remember to jot down your ideas on a notepad because its hard to remember good ideas when they pop in and out of your head.

Plus I am also using my blog to share my experiences for those who need help navigating the way towards their own success. Feel free to stop by. My link to my blog is below in my signature.
