Hello from Britain

Postby Glenn Langridge on Fri Nov 12, 2010 10:44 am

Hello everyone!

I've been in Network Marketing for two months or so and been a member of Better Networker for ooh let me see.......about two months funnily enough. :D

I'm afraid I've been lurking in the background, keeping quiet and just trying to garner information about this industry that's so new and fascinating to me. My dad always said, " If you can't say anything useful then don't say anything at all" so I've stuck to his advice and kept my eyes open and mouth firmly shut.

I now have a better handle on the whole thing and feel it's time to step out of the shadows and say "Hi" to everyone here.

Yes I'm new to this MLM/Network Marketing thingamajig but I have to say it seems like a great way for people to make friends, share knowledge and generally have a fun time. Added to that, if you've done your job right you should make some money too. That sounds to me like a win/win. 8-)

I understand that the point of BN is to give rather than take but I'm afraid right now I'm still a newbie learning the ropes so any advice/support I will give anyone for a while will be of the purely emotional rather than practical.....but if I can ever help anyone in my own modest way then I shall be more than happy. For now though please excuse my stupidity and innocence. In the meantime I shall remain a knowledge sponge and soak up all the info my little noggin can accommodate.

I shan't bore you all with my life story, there's a wee bit about me on my profile if you can spare a minute of two to take a look-see. I will be adding to it as and when it occurs to me.

So once again, Hello everyone. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all a lot better over the coming weeks and maybe making some great friendships.

Hi Glenn and welcome to the Betternetworker Forum this is a great site and it is a real pleasure to have you come on board. I see that you come from Dorset? that sure is a beautiful part of England, I live in Nevada now but in my heart I am still a Londoner (and I always will be) people here often say to me how 'lucky' I was living in London....trust me they wouldn't be so quick to say it if they saw the part that I come from. Still home is always home. I would have thought that with a name like Glenn that you might have come from Scotland?...still when you think about it I reckon that the UK is about the same size as Nevada (just a lot more interesting) ....except for Las Vegas and maybe Reno?
Anyway thats my little 'Welcome' out of the way.....so make your self at home here, pull up a chair and I will put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea...welcome again, all the best, regards Jim T. ;)

Hi Glenn,

Welcome to BN! It's very nice to meet you! I'm originally from Europe as well, Germany to be exact, but have been living in the United States for over 20 years now.

You're right when you say that there's no job for life any longer and you made a smart decision to look for a Plan B. You will find many people here eager to help you make your journey to success a pleasant one.

WIshing you much success!

Hello Britain
I am from Maine Glenn,
Have you ever heard of Color Training. The Experts Teach it some for up to 1000 bucks. It is much needed in Network Marketing since you are dealing with different personalities. If you would like to get Free Training on that let me know I can get you lots of Free Training on the personality Colors if that is of interest to you. I know I would be lost with out it. If you do not have Skype you need to get that too. www.skype.com. If you are in the UK it will be a huge asset for getting free Calls.
Hope that helps

Hope to talk soon

Hi Jim,

Wow, I just read your profile. Like you I met my wife to be on the internet, that's how I ended up in Dorset. A short trip for me from Wiltshire where I was at the time....nothing to compare from London to Nevada though!!! :o

Where in London did you live? I did for a while live in Charlton SE London with my ex-wife just a stones through from the Millennium Dome that was.

The USA sounds awesome, somewhere on my list of must visits. How as a Brit have you adapted to the new way of life?

Thanks for the great welcome......no sugar and just a little bit of milk in my cuppa thanks. Digestive anyone?

Hi Ilka,

Great to meet you and thanks for the welcome.

Another to make the move to the US? How did you find yourself in America? Work, pleasure?

Yes, things are looking very shaky with anyone employed with the UK Govt.....there are many redundancies and cutbacks ahead of us in the attempt to scale down a MASSIVE and costly civil service. Seems like a Plan B to fall back on would make some sense. ;)

Hi Juanita!

Maine? Oh wow! Now if ever I make it out to the USA, that's the first place I want to go to. Ever since I was a kid I've had romantic images in my head of your part of the country. Images on beautiful fishing villages, historic towns, picturesque countryside and friendly locals. I think maybe I read too much Steven King as a lad. My dream holiday is to hire a Winnebago and spend a month just driving up the coast from New York to Nova Scotia....fantastic!

Haha! I've beaten you to it. I'm already getting Colors training with MFF over here in the UK. I'm loving the personality training with Colors to Success......I'm a green without a doubt! Thank God for Mike Dlouhy.....he's made so much of MLM make sense to me.

And yes, I have Skype too. A superb tool for sure.

Hi Katie!

At last, a Brit who's not left for sunnier climes.....yet. ;)

All the Brits I've met so far in MLM are ex-pats in the USA, Canada, Spain, Portugal and France. That's the joy of MLM I suppose....it allows you to go wherever you want without ties to a job in one place. So long as you have a laptop and an internet connection you can be sat on a beach in the Bahamas and making money. The guy that introduced me to this industry most certainly does that.

How long have you been in MLM?

Hey Glenn

Well, I'm American in my *heart* but my body is still here in the cold and wind for sure! ;)

I've been involved in MLM for about 3 years now, same company, I love the business model when it's done the right way - with integrity. I love how it levels the playing field and makes your goals so realistic! I sacked my boss when I was 21 so I guess I would say that tho ;)

How are YOU doing so far, Glenn? Is there anything in particular you're wanting help with or focusing on right now?
