Success cannot be measured merely on a financial basis. As has been repeated numerous times in this thread: integrity is a must. If we do not operate on ethical principles and methods, eventually we will find others treating us in the same manner we treat them - unethically and without integrity. We may just find ourselves alone out there with no friends, no support. But when we reach out a hand to someone in need, there will be someone there to reach out a hand when we are in need. We will have lasting friendships and wonderful, caring business associates. That is the true measure of success.

Diane you have the most eloquent comments on this site. (Or is it just the questions I post? :D )

Oh course we reap what we sow, so doing WHATEVER IT TAKES (in the unethical sense) will only attract the desperate and the predator.

I liked very much what Allen had to say: essentially we are compensated for teaching and mentoring. With right intentions we'll never have to face WHATEVER IT TAKES or attract anyone else who will either.

Thank you Diane.

I say, be careful of those who are willing to do anything to have it all. You might not like the end results of your relationship.

I couldn't agree more. What worries me a bit is What was I thinking when I attracted the scamming marketers and upline in 2 out of my 3 business ventures? :?: :o

Thanks very much for the post Colleen.

Allen,

At the risk of stating the obvious, I do hope you know I posed the question & situation to be provocative.

That said I love what you wrote:
And if you think about it, we are all being paid to teach. If we can teach people we can make as much money as we want. And if we teach each other we can make friends and even more money.

And further you qualified the original "I'll Do Whatever It Takes" with
So the quote should really be, "I'll Do Whatever It Takes To Be a Better Teacher So I Can Provide More Value to my Team Members and Friends".

Very unfortunately for many of us, there are those who don't or won't qualify IDWIT (I DO like the acronym :D . Thanks!) So I hope by posting this forum question and the one about being a better liar, and any future ones, I'm doing my teaching and providing some value to the community, most especially to the newbies who are searching for a direction, some answers and friends.

Thanks Allen. You're on target!

Doing Whatever it Takes;

I think when someone is 100% committed to a task then whatever it takes isn't asking too much.

The example you gave about giving his wife permission to sleep with another man is a little far fetched.

If my wife asked my permission to sleep with someone I would say sure have fun and BTW pack your clothes before you go.

If another man asked me for permission to sleep with my wife I would say sure right after I castrated him.

"Whatever it takes", means to me, whatever I can do to accomplish my goal I'll do. I'll work more hours, I'll get another job, I'll quit watching TV, I'll cut out my wifes beer.
My wife sleeping with another man isn't something I would be doing it would be her doing it. Husbands don't have the right to give his wife away as if she's a piece of property.
I guess there's a limit to what anyone will do but that limit should be bigger than reading post in forums.

Tony:

Thank you for the compliment. I don't think anyone has ever used the word 'eloquent' to describe my posts before. I enjoy interacting on BN. There are some interesting posts here and I like the fact that people keep commenting on many of them. On some networks there is little response and I have lost interest in participating. Thanks for your posts.
