Re: Is it rude to HANG UP on your prospect?
It's really not rude to hang up on your prospect. First of all they would not be your prospect in the first place. You should politely end the conversation, especially since you are not getting anywhere with this person. Just move on. Hanging on the someone who is obviously not interested is wasting your time and later you may regret having that person as a team member or customer. If they do not realize the value of what you are telling them, it would not be your job to keep convincing them otherwise. When they are ready for a challenge, they know where to contact you.

Yeah I could not agree with you more. Hanging up on prospect sounds mean... and could be taken the wrong way. Respect is the first thing we wanna have as NM, always leading with value being the flame & the ghost. (see what I mean by the ghost and flame here CONTENT REMOVED by Better Networker Support)
There are certain prospects, like you said, that are extremely hard to deal with and not used to someone taking control of the conversation. CEO, financial officers... are they good prospects? Absolutely they know what it takes to create success, but generally they are the fire type and when you are polite.. they can take control and step over you. One extreme measure if they do not want to play along, is to GAP and hang up.

If the conversion has been closed politely and professionally..then its not "hanging up on someone". The rude part is when you simply just hang up on someone without politely ending the conversion or to do it as a marketing ploy or just because you're upset that the prospect does not wish to sign up for your business. If you hang up on someone unprofessionally, then it clearly shows that you're nothing but a loser and a jackass and that people you hung up on will go and tell his friends and family what you did thus greatly reducing the pool of your prospects
Treat people with the same dignity and respect that you yourself would like to be treated if you're on the other line of the phone....period. There is no reason whatsoever for that type of behavior and you simply can't justify or rationize bad behavior.
