I guess you can say I've lived the American Dream. But, it turns out it wasn't my dream. I graduated top in my college and law school classes, got a job at a huge International law firm making more than any 25 year old should. I represented the likes of Philip Morris, Cola Cola, McDonalds, and appeared before Federal judges and argued before juries. But then what? What do you do when you know that this is it . . . you're doomed to working 70 hour work weeks for eternity - or at least till your old and gray? The partners worked harder than I was. Sure, they make several million per year but what in the world do they do with it? They can't make it to their kids' soccer games, they can't spontaneously take the day off to golf, and more often than not they have to cancel their vacation due to a trial or client emergency. They are stuck in the rat race of the J-O-B!

It was about 18 months ago that this realization struck me so forcefully that I quit my six figure income as a trial lawyer. Initially after quitting I was investing in real estate - flipping houses. That was working out really well and providing me with an income comparable to my law job. I was even featured in Money Magazine for what I was doing. But, again if I quit doing it, I quit making money. I decided I wanted to stop working for make money and start working for wealth. I want to retire and be financially independent while I can still enjoy my children and my life. What's the point of working hard your whole life so that you can retire when you are too old to play with your kids, travel, and enjoy the prime years of your life. So, that's it! At the ripe old age of 33 I took a leap of faith and joined an MLM business opportunity. I have never looked back!

I have a home based business where I finally own my own life! I love it. I am close to a six figure income after just 13 months. And, this is just the beginning. I work only when I feel like it. Making money from home is the most rewarding thing! I just had my third child and guess what? I continued to get paid while I was in the hospital having him and home spending time with him and my other children. That's the really great thing about residual income. I highly recommend it.

So, if you are like me and in the "rat race" of life working for someone else and you realize you want more - you want financial independence, you want to own your life, you want to travel, you want freedom - take a good hard look at the world of MLM. There are amazing MLM business opportunities out there that give you back your life. And, you can start one cheaper than you could start up any ordinary business. Don't waste another day feeling unfulfilled and wishing you had more. Go follow your dream. I did and I'll never look back!

Yes! It's Total Freedom.

I also left the corporate world to persue direct sales over 4 years ago and never looked back ...maybe because it was in the financial sector, and what a downturn it has experienced in the past years.

Once you find a niche, product, company or service that you can add passion, ability, drive and some cool marketing to bring in the masses, it really becomes a "Blast".

I have been in numerous direct sales companies and continue to look for others to sink my hooks into.

I am new to BetterNetworker and I've been impressed with several of the articles that I have read, yours included. Your story is testimony to the diversity that exists within the network marketing arena. I've been actively involved in this industry for twenty years and many of the most successful distributors have been "traditional professionals" who realized the benefits of relationship marketing. They certainly recognized the power of leverage and knew that as "traditional professionals" they would almost always be trading time for money and that their time wasn't usually theirs to do with as they wished.

Reviewing the comments, regarding your article, it is also obvious that there are many serious and successful "new professionals" who participate in these forums.

You made the right move. I have made major money from home for the past 7 years after working on the trading floors. There is no stress working for myself calling the shots from home and its great!
