Hi Jhaura,
I'm playing the devils advocate
but you asked me to check it out and give you my feedback. It looks like you spent a lot of time on something everyone else has. I personally think spending time on blogs for the purpose of prospecting takes precious time away from people trying to make money in this industry.
Please don't get me wrong, you may need a blog to communicate with your team, or build credibility as a subject matter expert but for MLM recruiting it just doesn't work. Not many people get the message right and it looks like a terrible infomercial. Many people my disagree, but it is not one of the money making tasks in MLM.
Just my two cents

Re: My new custom WP blog theme. Do you like it? + Hello!
Hi Mike:
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your point of view. I was primarily looking for design/theme feedback, but understand your point of view...too many of us spend too much time "getting ready, to get ready" as Jeffery Combs says.
I happen to get fantastic recruiting results from my blog even though the last post I made was over 9 months ago. Typically, I'll sponsor 3-5 reps per month from it into my primary, and some into MLSP. Maybe you're one of the 7 figure earners and that is not worth it for you, but for us 6 figure earners that is considered very good recruiting for one channel. I'm very happy with the investment and it is one of the reasons I am on the top 10 income earners in my company for the last 6 months straight.
I'm curious if you have a blog? I didn't see one on your profile...I'd like to see your take on it.
Thank you again for the feedback and taking your valuable time to comment!
All the best,
Jhaura

Actually I have to disagree. I like his website. Its easy to read, sharp, and the message is clear from the moment you look at the site as to who he is and what he is all about. Most importantly, he's inserted his personal life and story into the page making it unique.
If anyone wants to know what a good network marketing website looks like, they should see this one.

Re: My new custom WP blog theme. Do you like it? + Hello!
.
I like it Jhaura.
Its clean, easy to read and it doesn't feel overly crowded with distractions.
You've got some good branding elements in place (the JW logo, the "lifestyle message" in the header) and the call to action at the bottom of the post.
I also like the single focus of the featured post on the first page.
Keeps the attention on that content. Again another element to reduce distractions - good job.
There are a few elements I would look at making some minor tweaks to, to test if they help.
1. Increase your body font to 14px using the current font.
2. Increase the font size for your subheadlines.
Currently they feel pushed together and squashed down. Maybe something around 18-21px. Play with it to see what looks good. This will help your subheadlines stand out more, which will increase the scanability of your content.
3. Make your navbar stand out more.
I would increase the font size and perhaps add some decoration to your top navbar.
Its ok as is, but is easy to skip over at the moment. If you increase the font size and add some CSS styling to the navbar to help it stand out more as "navigation." Just a little something to help draw the readers eye. Especially with the single featured post. You'll want people to understand how to get to the rest of your content as intuitively as possible.
4. Add some extra navigation.
I would also consider adding the "related posts" plugin so you have links to other posts at the end of your featured post. Again, this will help add intuitive navigation to the user experience.
5. Increase your branding.
From a branding perspective, I really like the JW logo and would emphasize it a little more. Maybe add it to the header graphic. Make it bigger so it stands out with an accompanying tagline that reinforces the "lifestyle" message you already have represented.
6. Make your CTA stronger.
The last piece to look at is your overall "call to action." You can go waaay stronger on this point. You have lots of white space to lay with - which is a good thing. This is a matter of split testing to see what gets you the best results. To do that you'll need to decide what your greatest goal is. Is it subscribers? Is it facebook likes? Is it post comments? What ever it is, put a string emphasis on that.
So for instance your optin box. If you're looking to build your list I would make that box stand out more. The headline and body text are pretty weak at the moment and almost bleed into the header. Add some "oomph" to it, get their attention and really make it stand out.
That's my initial review. Good job overall.

Hi Richard, thank you!

There are a few elements I would look at making some minor tweaks to, to test if they help.
1. Increase your body font to 14px using the current font.
You're probably right about this, my wife tells me that too. I use the Yahoo! CSS framework and they suggest 13px, which it is now. But I'll give 14 a try!
2. Increase the font size for your subheadlines.
Currently they feel pushed together and squashed down. Maybe something around 18-21px. Play with it to see what looks good. This will help your subheadlines stand out more, which will increase the scanability of your content.
They are h3, maybe I'll set them to h2. Main headline is h1. I use a custom web font that is condensed so that long headlines don't wrap, that's why they are squished.
3. Make your navbar stand out more.
I would increase the font size and perhaps add some decoration to your top navbar.
Its ok as is, but is easy to skip over at the moment. If you increase the font size and add some CSS styling to the navbar to help it stand out more as "navigation." Good tip!
4. Add some extra navigation.
I would also consider adding the "related posts" plugin so you have links to other posts at the end of your featured post. Again, this will help add intuitive navigation to the user experience.
Another good point. I don't use plugins but will code it up on the single posts.
5. Increase your branding.
From a branding perspective, I really like the JW logo and would emphasize it a little more. Maybe add it to the header graphic. Make it bigger so it stands out with an accompanying tagline that reinforces the "lifestyle" message you already have represented.
Thank you. Good point to add it to the header.
6. Make your CTA stronger.

Providing value through the posts first. So I guess comments are a great way to gauge that...
So for instance your optin box. If you're looking to build your list I would make that box stand out more. The headline and body text are pretty weak at the moment and almost bleed into the header. Add some "oomph" to it, get their attention and really make it stand out.
About to fire up a video for that. I'm waiting to get my video shooting area finished. It's almost done.
That's my initial review. Good job overall.

Thank you Richard for you thorough and very valuable review. I commented on each one above. You brought up some very strong areas where I can improve my blog. Your post won't go unimplemented. I'll report back here when I get these things done.
Cheers,
Jhaura
