I think about the housing situation all the time. Over a broad, or here at home there is still the same problem exists. Where is the government involvement? Where are the regulators governing housing for the poor? You can't very well blame the landlord in his situation. He can only work with what you got. There is assistance in place to provide for housing of the poor. It's is truly hard to invest into a sinking ship. Without any government involvement, the poor are in a sinking ship. We somehow provide for better housing through government regulations and subsidies. Do other countries do the same for their citizens? Do other countries build suitable housing for its citizens? Where do other countries invest their money for the good of the country? I would think twice when people are living in housing that was built in the early '20's. Those buildings should have been torn down 50 years ago. The living conditions would be considered deplorable and no one is lifting a finger to change things.
Thank you for bringing a light on the subject.
