What happened to the ambiance?

Postby John Leonard on Fri Aug 22, 2008 10:05 pm

"What happened to the ambiance"?

I mean the place was really rockin and rollin..

The BNL (Better Networker Lounge) was “THE” place to be, and the place to be seen…

Drinks were flowing, the music was kick ass, and everyone was laughing and singing…

Lifetime friendships were being created, jokes were being told, and a great time was being had by all..

And, after a “few” (hiccup) of what quickly became as the “house drink” (margarita’s)…

It was rumored that creativity amongst the BN community was at an all time high… :ugeek:

Anyway…

There I was…

Sitting by the BNL pool, kickin back with my feet up, having a great time, talking with new friends, and just enjoying life… 8-)

then.. “BAM”

Faster than you can say “Deepak Chopra wrote another book”…

I was drenched by the THE BIG MEGA MASSIVE WAVE OF WEALTH

“WOW”... what a sobering experience…

Truth is..

That in spite of the “MEGA WAVE”

The BNL is still a really great, rockin place, full of great people and good times…

On the flip side…

unless we…

A) Find away to enforce the “Sign Over The Door” (SEE RULE 1)…

B) Create a “BNL Addendum” to Ferny’s WHAT NOT To Do In BetterNetworker!

C) Start a “cover charge” (ie: make the above “mandatory reading”)

D) or get bigger bouncers ;)

Then sad as it may be seem…

The BNL has the potential of becoming just another “free for all biker bar”…

With watered down drinks, lousy atmosphere, and boring people with bad attitudes…

Personally, I would hate to see that happen..

So, until we figure it out… (and before all the “hip cats” move on)

Could someone turn down the lights…

And crank up the music…

I have my "dancin flip-flops" on..

And.. and.. oh ya... I remember the question now..

Who’s round is it?

Hey John
I totally agree with the mandatory reading and I'm more than happy to go for 'bigger bouncers' option! Are you offering? Any chance we can get Vin Diesel on the door? actually, better not, it could possibly cause some friction among the ladies. (well, it would if any of them tried to muscle in on him before me! )
Okay, I finally opened up.

Sue..

I put a call in to Vin..

Although he had to pass on the "bouncer" position...

he did express a big interest in the "lifeguard" position at the BNL pool (so he could work on his tan).

Being a BIG fan of the "community", he also indicated that he would be more than happy to "slap silly" anyone caught acting up in the lounge and NOT paying attn. to the "rules".

J

"pssst" - he mentioned he needed a little help with the suntan "lotion" ;) ;)

John - tell him to hold on. I'm on my way with some very special sun tan lotion! Sand or no sand, I can't let the guy burn now can I?

Sizzle - back off girlie.

DJ? Hmm? Well, I don't want this job. Sitting in the corner, not being able to dance, YUK! No thanks. But can I request that whoever is elected makes sure us 'oldies' are catered for? I confess to not being too fussy, anything from Nickleback to Michael Buble (ah, Michael,he would make another very acceptable addition to the lounge.)

Okay, off to take a cold shower before I head over to cool (?) off Vin!

Hey gang... yes we are knee deep in the process of not only getting content moderators, but we are also going to make some changes to the base content and forum systems to keep the junk out.

The unfortunate thing is, no matter how many times you throw rules, guidelines in peoples' faces, there will always be folks who don't read them, don't care, read them and don't care, or some goofy combination of all that. :)

We do need more quality forum moderators, so if any one is interested let me know.

We are most likely moving to a different submissions system for other site content. Folks will still be able to submit, but we are going to move to making the main display of articles and vidoes "hand picked" content from our staff, and have a "community" section for general posts. If folks want their stuff to appear on the main default pages for content, then they have to post good, relevant stuff.

More to come!

Thanks J

Let's hope people see the value in getting their articles/video's past the quality control to be posted on the main display.

Meanwhile, I hate to disappoint you all yet again, but I have to leave for a while. X factor is due on the TV pretty soon and Simon Cowell wouldn't really make it into the lounge here so I have no option but to watch him on the box. (sad I know)

J..

Truth is, the BNL really does have ambiance..

I just couldn't resist taking a poke (in fun) at that (since removed) post that seemed outa place in this fine, upstanding, and rockin watering hole..

and so to keep things on the "lite and fun side"... and to eliminate the "serious" conversation from the BNL..

I have created a Quality Control Thread for those for want to share thoughts and suggestions..

In the meantime... it's back to "good times"..

I'm going to go back and relax by the BNL pool with my "house drink" and work on my tan... 8-)

Sue..

if you can tear yourself away from the x-factor and Simon.. I was hoping that you could spare a little of that "special" lotion :D

Kathy..

I do hear the D.J. position is still open ;)

J..

if you're in need of a new BNL "resident bartender" (ie:moderator) let me know...

I make a kick ass margarita..

and have "no problem" shutting-off all those who "can't" handle their fav. bev. and ignore the "rules"

John

BTW - May i suggest all us BNL patrons raise our glasses and toast the "admin" for a job "well done"...

:D CHEERS :D *raising glass

Ok, now that we're all back and chilling can we have some music please? Someone may need to give the resident DJ a nudge, or maybe just drag em away from the bar!

Who's in charge of the menu here? Checked out Warren's place John but Angus burgers may slow down the dancing.

RAZR Hawk Driver

Postby jasonvs spruce on Sat Apr 09, 2011 12:37 am

Forged Composite is the most advanced material mother earth has to offer, enabling the most precise positioning of weight ever seen before in a Callaway golf club.

Super light weight, Forged Composite is precision forged under extreme pressure, enabling it to have remarkable load bearing capacity at only a third the density of titanium. With over 500,000 turbostratic carbon fibers per square inch, Forged Composite has allowed Callaway Golf engineers to create an ultra thin-walled body, which is much lighter, stronger than titanium. The result, lower overall Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver head weight with precisely engineered weight distribution enabling the use of a longer shaft to increase head speed and power at impact for longer distances and enhanced accuracy.
