As of this writing I have 106,000 followers across 7 accounts. I don't blast like a spammer but rather have carefully written posts that periodically get posted.

If I blasted Twitter I could receive a lot more hits but then your risk getting slapped.

Note - I do connect and interact with the community in spite of the number of followers. When you use Seesmic desktop you can communicate on Twitter like a chat channel. It works perfectly and it's all explained in those posts.

I tried twitter and had about 10000 followers in 3 accounts, but got almost nonexistent traffic. oh well..
