HI everybody!! One of my favorite and effective ways to market is picking up the phone and actually CALLING my social media connections and saying hello! You must start to build the relationship before you start to market to someone. It is a known rule of thumb that people join people! Hope this gave a different view/insight.

Yes, and no Margaret, meaning I don't personally call them out of the blue unless they request you call them and it's basically a cool call, and I don't really like it when someone calls me just to talk or whatever unless an appointment was set beforehand, ie. don't have time for it for one, and two, just because you get to know someone online doesn't mean they want a call from you too whenever you want to call them.

E.G> I'm learning from two awesome ladies that hardly do any SMM and have others like myself do it, and one is a millionaire in the Network Marketing industry (Christina Hodge) and the other is a trainer in our Team Debbie Stein and she makes over 8K a week (and did it in 16 months), and I verified that with the President and so it's not just some made up number.

These ladies don't do what most do here, but they are making the big bucks and so I'm learning from then, and there are very specific processes that have to happen to do it and most never get close to it, or if they do, they do it wrong, or else they would be making the kind of money like Christina and Debbie do on our Team United and these women make more than most men do here to and overall for that matter. And what they are teaching me down to the detail is working and working big. Plus these ladies know how to close the sale and get WAHM trained asap, and that's the main key to their success.

My two cents from my experience so far with two incredible Women on our WAHM Team United SH. :0) Chiao. HF

Harry,
Thanks for the reply to my comment. I am always open to all suggestions of network marketing. And that was just one of the things that I do as far as marketing. My other marketing strategies include social media groups, safelisting, IBOtoolbox, Better Networker, and I have my main blog as a central hub. Not every marketing strategy is right for every marketer. We all have our own technique. That, in my opinion, is something that is WAY cool about network marketing, because there are many different ways to become successful, you just have to find the one that works for you. :)

Actually if you want to make money, ultimately you have to be extremely good at sales, and what I mean by that is, questions, answering, following up on good prospects properly, and closing them and then getting them up and running asap, and in training and doing asap. Most train, train, train, and train some more and never focus on making Sales, and marketing is only going to get you 80% of the way, but the other 20 and final phase is closing the sale, making money, and training people to do the same and when done properly, the process happens very fast from start to finish, once you have a very qualified prospect to work with.

Most know how to give some cute tips, write a blog, and look professional and maybe branding, but most saverly lack results, and what counts in business; results and making a living so one can support one's family and then some. Again, I know many say I'm negative but I guess the truth and reality are negative then, because the stats are the stats and they don't lie. So please, don't shoot the messenger over the message please. :D

btw; Debbie Stein in our group makes over 8K in one week and she did it in 16 months being trained by the very same people I am being trained by (million dollar earner Christina Hodge and her husband Kenny Hodge, Debbie Stein (one of our trainers) and the VP of Marketing Bobby Smith who I work with personally to give one the highest percentage of success and this team has it. e.g. 47 inbound calls to me in about six weeks and that with just with a little offline marketing, and not including online marketing.

Want to be trained by Debbie? Heck, could you actually say no to that offer? Debbie makes more money in two months, than most men make in a year with a good paying job, so how can you say no to that right? :D If you, do, that would be too bad, and that's ok, but you can always come back around if whatever you are doing isn't working and many people go years if not decades never getting the proper training and if they do, don't take advantage of it and work their tail off and follow through. Anyway, if so, just give me the word and I'll zip you some info Margaret. Chiao.

Thanks for the offer Harry, but I am right on track for my plan. I feel we have definately awnsered the question of this forum and beyond. And yes closing the sale is about 80% of the sale. I'd love to hear osome other imputs on this p=topic as well! Have a great day/Mother's Day if you're a mother :).

I took a peak at what you are marketing, and that day and time has gone forever (e.g. another "me too" nutritional Co. in the already over saturated Network Marketing industry) In other words, massive market penetration and millions of Network markers online and offline (not including all the non-mlm Co's hocking vitamins and health and nutritional products who I actually buy from purity products and vitality) and too many marketers in that category and not enough people wanting the products let alone wanting to market them.

It's based on market research, and there is no question the saturation and competition makes it 100 times more difficult to gain traction in the industry now and make it long term with attrition rates being so high in it.

Anyway, keep me posted on how you are progressing in the business, and I'll keep you posted on mine, how's that (healthy snacks) and I just wrote a blog that talks about it a bit more here http://www.betternetworker.com/blogs/vi ... supplement

Anyway, most don't do market research before the join a MLM Co. and work really hard just to fail anyway, because most people are just plain tired of health and nutritional supplements and non-food products, and I have to say it; Ray H was right again! :0)

P.S. Here's another one I wrote on it too at; http://www.betternetworker.com/blogs/vi ... forum-post

Anyway, hope it helps, because many go months and even years without making even %600.00 a year (considered a hobby by the IRS) and keep lying to themselves and saying they are in business for themselves when in reality they are either working for free or working for free and losing money too. Now if that isn't insanity, what is. Hint; only one Network Marketing Co. in the category I'm in and marketing, and it's just plain savvy. Chaio healthysnackmoms

P.S. Here's a snippet from one Margaret for quick reference:

"I was on a SH call last week, and this really hit me hard what this host Donna said. She said, " I was making almost six figures in another Co. but gaining traction in the older supplement Co. was extremely difficult...", and she also said, "..being with SH with all the media and miss obama promoting healthy eating, even many major sports teams too, they are doing a lot of the marketing for us for free, and I've grown my SH business well beyond what I was making in the previous company in half the time because of it, and the momentum is has created..." I paraphrased a bit, but the point is crystal clear I hope.

I know there are plenty of ways to market. I like to try each one and spend some time trying out new techniques to market a product better.
I've tried advertising on most sites. Blogging is interesting. Taking surveys is up and coming. Other avenues are being tried as they are introduced. When things go flat, it is always time to try something new to get that difference in experience. If everything else fails, then always back to one-on-one presentations and just plain meeting people every day and finding what they are doing and help them to achieve their goals. Sooner or later they will come back to you for advice.
One lady asked about starting a business. I suggested to her to start right here on the BN to gain that needed experience and ask this forum for advice.

Some very good points Mario, and most people don't have the inclination to test, test, and test some more and stay focused while doing so, because every detail matters in the process that is working or not working. E.G. One project you have a set of specific steps (things to do and say exactly) and it's called a specific process within the context of that one project.

Another project will have a different set of steps and exact process (e.g. another direct advertising, and or marketing campaign for example, and so on and so forth), but most never "get it" and flounder around like a fish out of water and try this and that but never really making improvements on anything and put it all together, so they go back to Social Media sites, and "yap and slap" I call it, i.e. yap a little about how their five dollar program is going to make you millions without any proof, and then just "slap" their URL to their free website, and then they think they are a business person that's in business. Please, give me break.

Or just as bad, they have some good writing skills and blog and blog and "slap and yap" and blog some more, and do all the social media stuff, but never close any sales, because this is a direct sales business and that's what it is classified as. In other words you are basically a "commission only" salesperson when you do MLM, or affiliate marketing or whatever where you earn a commission for performance and nothing else, but most work for free, and never make money and most likely lose a ton of time and a good chunk of change floundering and never getting expert help to maybe change their plight.

Crazy and insanity I know, but that's what is happening all over the Internet and even more so with Social media and it's no "magic bullet" by any means as stats bare out. Well, with that, I know a guy named Mario here in LA and he works three jobs, but won't look at anything else. He said I look like luigi from Super Mario Brothers (the game) and I do with a baseball cap on! I said, well you're name is Mario so you must be Super Mario. :D He just laughs, too funny! Chaio. HF

Hi Margaret, I love that you do that, it is actually amazing that so few actually do that. Now I have had many that has used that in the wrong way, and have started to turn it into a pitch. I assume that you actually find out about them and get into them first, and then if it makes sense to you then share things that can help based on what they told you.

Often people do it in a way that becomes a pitch, so when someone begins to do what Margaret has developed as a very valuable skill: actually call them because you want to get to know them, and get them talking about them, never make it a one-man-show about yourself. Have anything to add on that Margaret?
