Okay, I'm used to blogging (using Blogger mostly)... not that I'm an expert on it already but I know enough on how to get around things.

My company just recently launched a Wordpress Blog that they now included in the package for all affiliates and I'm really excited! However, my biggest problem was when I started dreaming about embedding videos in wordpress! For the life of me I can't embed one stinkin' video no matter how many "ways" I tried to do it in the html box.

Any suggestions or instructions to help me out on this? Thanks so much for anything and everything!

Wordpress as with any platform can have issues at times.
Here's what I recommend...

There are several variables at play which can affect the results.
Please post the following:

* What version of WP are you using?

* The full video embed code using the CODE button above.
It will look like this...

Code: Select all

Paste your video embed code between the code brackets [code]LIKE THIS[/code]

* What theme are you using?

That will be a good start to troubleshoot what may be happening.

Yes, it can be very frustrating to embed a video in youtube.

I recommend you add the free plug-in: Viper Video Quicktag.

YOu can use it to embed youtube, vimeo and many other videos.

I haven't had a problem embedding a video since I started using it.

Thank you so much for all your input. The WP Blog theme we have is exclusive for our company, Xpress Healthcare. Support finally added a plugin for embedding Youtube videos and it's finally working for me now! Yoohoo!

Just for future reference there is also a book that might help out in future situations like this, is is 'Teach Yourself Wordpress Visually' I have it in front of me right now, in this particular situation there are actually five or six colored pages explaining and showing the various options that you have in your situation.

The other good thing is that you can almost always borrow this book from your local library if you ever need it (or buy it?).... anyway good luck and I hope that it works out alright,

Oh WOW! Thanks for the tip, Jim! I'm definitely going to check this book out. I am so used with Blogger's platform and never really liked Wordpress until now. (hehehe...) I know I need a lot of learning to do so a reference such as this will DEFINITELY be a good one to have on hand.
