(Perhaps "inexpensive" is a better word than "cheap"?!)...this may seem cheezy to some of you at first glance, but a month ago yours truly decided to get rid of my car dealership's licence plate covers and replace them with those that had a tag line and my opportunity's URL. I even splurged on two chrome covers for ~$50 total for front and back plates. I figured why drive around all day advertising my car dealership all day, when I could be doing the same for MY OWN business?!
I live in a smaller city with about 300,000+/- people so honestly did not expect anything to happen for awhile...well, it "worked"! Recently I got a direct lead from someone who saw the plate who ultimately joined my program (and a nice $220 in commissions as he just went with starter product for now, but he will likely upgrade later).
Nothing exciting, high tech, sophisticated, difficult, or online about using a simple tool like a licence plate cover I know, but good to know that the "old tried and true" methods can also work (of course having the right lead capture page and follow-up marketing system helps too, ha!).
Dedicated to your success,

Hey ya'll..
remember that YouTube is a free, fun and definately "cheap" way to advertise. Web 2.0 and any visual marketing is very hot right now. YouTube is #2 in the most popular social media sites at the moment.
Get crakin and git yer vids up!
Cheers,

Great tip...I actually thought about that but...I haven't put it into practice because I drive a 91 Ford Tempo and that doesn't say "success" so I will at least wait until I have a more suitable vehicle!

Hey 9010,
You don't have to make those videos in your car. Go to a friends house who has a nice deck (maybe you have your own), sit out back there and let er rip. This is the part where "fake it till you make it" kind of rings true
In fact take the camera everywhere. If you're still working a job, make a video on your lunch break.
Better yet, do it in a cafe where everyone around you can see you doing it. Your viewer will be saying, "Wow, this guy means business!" and the people around you will be like, "Damn, he must be important." They might actually 3-foot rule you
Don't be shy. After all, you're the one that's building a life while the rest of the world just lets life happen to them.
BTW, I drive an 89 Olds Cutlass...

Re: "Cheap" marketing tip of the day
I used this very method to go from 1 or two members to over 250 within a few short weeks.
On a plain piece of paper you can get 6 mini flyers with your business op on it. Black and white color is fine plus it is cheaper.
Cut them into sections and hand them out. Put them everywhere you go. Store, restroom, restaurants,hotels,businesses,bars...i don't care...just put them everywhere.
you mini flyer should be simple yet catchy.
Mine simply said: Your Ticket to Win
my website url here.com
Make Friends, Have Fun and Make Money!
to dress it up abit, I had a ticket border theme around it. I printed out about 25 bucks worth and went to work!~
the url was actually a redirect back to my opportunity I was an affiliate for.
use it ~ it works ~ Enjoy!

Re: "Cheap" marketing tip of the day
Thank you, Yeah it was very easy and very effective.
I just said, I am promoting a new website please check it out when you get a chance.
alot of the time they would ask me what it was etc and I just said... just check it out and give me some feedback... my info is on the site etc. or the site will explain it better than me just check it out.
I ended up handing out about 600 to 700 mini flyers in all.
I am about to use it again with this promo:

I am thinking of a good name... I am searching now... if you have a good one pass it on. I may use it?! lol
thanks Kirk
The MiniFlyer is Awesome, I am creating a new one for above today actually.

Lots of good ideas here. I offer a Free consultation for people who want to learn about having a home base business, in local "free" papers. I do not pitch my opportunity when I first talk to people, but focus on the industry and the value of network marketing. I do it online classifieds as well, but the actually print versions seem to have a better response. In my neighborhood we have a weekly paper that you can post things like this for no cost. Check your area as well.

Re: "Cheap" marketing tip of the day
My network marketing company has a retail avenue. So, as a find new customers, they become a part of my "VIP" candle club. They purchase 9 candles and get the 10th free. And for any referrals they send my way they also get one credit per referral. Example - refer 9 and get a free candle.
This gets very powerful when you begin putting the referrals into your VIP club also. I track the referrals and when the time is right, go back to the customer and talk to them about customer vs. distributor. Ultimately, they started building a business without even knowing. They now have referred x amount of referral (customers.) So, my next question to them is "Have you ever thought about making some supplemental income. You already have a customer base established"....................
