Make Sure You Review The Rules

When I joined this community a little over a year ago, I neglected to read the rules for this forum. I, like you, was full of enthusiasm and was going to post a 'drive-by' topic that would end with my affiliate link in the body--luckily, I noticed something said in the forums about a cop that patrols these here forums to prevent exactly what I was intending to do. Upon further investigation I found that you can't post self-serving links in the body of your posts. Good thing I didn't hit the 'submit' button!

I was a little frustrated at first, this delay was going to force me to reconsider my post and then I'd have to think of something valuable to post. Once I took a step back I realized that I was surrounded by other network marketers that was interested in value as well as contributions. There was no way around it, I had to step my game up. Long story short I had to--Review The Rules.

About The Community

Once you've set up your profile settings, take a little time to browse around in the forums. Resist the temptation to post right away! Pay attention to the discussions, the questions asked and the advice given. More often than not you'll notice a recurring theme of value, content, and education. Now the last theme, education, is not referring to your educational background. This is in reference to your willingness to educate others about what you do without selling what you do. If you're not sure how this works, then take a look at the 'Todays Popular Content' portion on the home page. There you can read articles posted by some of the leading marketers here on BN. About The Leaders

You will see particular names bounced around from time to time. Names like; Ferny Ceballos, Mike Dillard, Tim Erway, Ricahrd Bravo-basically these guys helped create and shape this very website. Now I'm still relatively a newbie myself so I'm still learning about the history of Better Networker and the who and the what of how it got started. The one thing that I can tell you is that when you see those names floating around, pay attention. Those individuals have earned the respect of Better Networker members and have the full faith of this community.

So, that pretty much sums up this thumb-nail sketch of Better Networker-from a newbie point of view. I know you'll find the knowledge needed to grow your business. Thank you for your contribution to the community. Like you said it is very common for someone new to the BN community to jump in and post a message in the forum with a link that may violate forum policy.

In such cases, the admin, Carl the Cop, the "Teeshirt Guy", and an assortment of other moderators rush to the scene of the crime for clean up.

However most of the time someone from within the community gets there first, and steps up to welcome them and then "politely" lets them know the best way to join in.

If you're brand new, one of very best things you can do is fill out your profile and let people know who you are. A picture will help make that connection. With a complete profile you will often find that others will introduce themselves to you.

And as mentioned...

Hey C. Imanon, if you are a newbie you are one savvy newbie I have got to say! You created a very valuable piece of content that will be very beneficial to both newbie and veteran.

May I make a few suggestions? You are active and that is very good, like you said, no one here like drive-by posters! I would love to see your face, your sketch is interesting, but we both know it isn't you. It doesn't have to be a professional picture, something taken on a digital can work very well, a good smiling head shot is best.

Other than that I was very impressed, welcome to our community!
