Gentlemen and Ladies,

Interesting article to say the least. I have always wondered why we jump around to different sites to get exposure. While getting oneself noticed is important, it makes much more sense to concentrate ones actions to a specific site.

Obviously, most of us have lives beyond internet marketing and it would make happy to have lazer focus on just a few Social sites instead of Ten or so.

Cheers,

That is encouraging Ferny,

After spending some reading through Charles Heflin's site yesterday (thanks to your initial post) I have come to the conclusion Charles is a class act and someone to pay attention to.

Ironically the day after you posted a link to this article of Charles', the same Social Media Bubble Burst post was not only mentioned in the 16 Step free training by Sam Clark and Jack Humphrey, but Sam actually read it all to us aloud through the webinar! He was that impressed with it.

Sam also mentioned Russell Wright of Theme Zoom [ http://www.theme-zoom.com ]. So, I have more reading to do, when I can find the time.

It's funny you mention Russell Wright. Ray and I just got off the phone with him
about enrolling in his TZ Protege program (first step in becoming certified SEO gods).

Here's my first post on this community, which was inspired by Russell and Charles:

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks again Ferny,

I spent some time today and reviewed that older post as well as your videos on Silo structures...

Outstanding material!

Your free videos definitely give me some action steps to implement.

Thanks for sharing your soon to be "SEO god" like knowledge.

Hello everyone,

Thanks to Ferny and the power of social media conversation tracking I have determined that it would be helpful to join this community... I don't know how I missed it before but this community has certainly matured right under my nose and I never knew about it until Ferny pointed it out to me.

This has turned out to be a great thread and discussion, I am sure there are others as well. I look forward to contributing and helping (time permitting) in the best way I can.

If anyone has any specific questions for me feel free to ask... I'm listening. Other than that I will be digging in and seeing how I can contribute in a valuable way.

Thank you,

Charles Heflin

Being that MIT is still part of my geek identity, I recently got the Technology Review (MIT's Magazine) in the mail and it had an awesome article on how Barack Obama trounced Hillary Clinton, despite her strong political alliances and name recognition... How'd he do it?

Social networking.

Particularly, what the Obama campaign did was launch a social network before announcing his candidacy:
http://technologyreview.com/video/index.aspx?id=21222&brightcove=1668487184&iframe=infotech&autoplay=true

You can listen to the article here:
http://www.audiodizer.com/technologyreview/infotech/21222.mp3

Or you can register at the Tech Review to read it for yourself.

http://my.barackobama.com in it's peak traffic periods, exceeds the both the traffic of facebook and myspace. Through this social network, BO is able to collect exact data about his supporters on the micro level and organize small groups and individuals, to knock the doors of undecided voters in their particular city block. Incredible.

Hillary on the other hand had email & McCain has a blog. Yippie!

So I guess what I'm getting at is the creation of Better Networker is nothing short of genius, given the massive advantage it gives you over your competition, and helps you figure out exactly what your market wants... along with giving us an opportunity to do the same via interaction.

Incredible.

-Ferny

P.S To demonstrate how dominant Obama has been using social media, here are the Twitter accounts for Hillary, McCain and Obama:
http://twitter.com/BarackObama - #1 Twitter account in the world
http://twitter.com/hillaryclinton - lame
http://twitter.com/JohnMcCain2008 - lamer

So if there was any wonder how Obama overcomes his lack of experience, it's through his marketing.

See just how awesome this community is? This thread not only got us noticed by Charles,(with a little help from Ferny, 8-) ), it also got him to join us. And I guarantee, with Charle's influence in the social marketing arena, this little community is going to explode big time.

All we have to do now is get him to spill the beans on everything he knows. :D Could take a while, cos he is one very clever fella!
Okay, I finally opened up.

Check out how I can help you.
