SEO Title Tag Domination (Part 1 of 2)

Postby Ron Randall on Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:47 am

The number 1 forgotten rule of search engine optimization is the title tag.

I did not even know how important it was until I learned about it and saw the amazing results.

There are plenty of people out there that are not utilizing the power of title tags on their websites or blogs, and I was one of them.

Here is a video in real time showing you the power of the title tag.

The title tag is THE most important piece of real estate for SEO.

If you've got a small biz (or a large one), and your title tag says "home" or "welcome" and you're not intentionally trying to rank for the search queries "home" or "welcome" (LOL), then you need to add your keywords (or keywords you think people may search on to find you) in the title tag.

Also, front load your keywords in the title tag. The placement of your keywords is also important. For example, if you're a company (name Joe's Carpentry) and you're trying to rank for the query "Connecticut storm windows," don't arrange your title tag like so: "Joe's Carpentry - Connecticut Storm Windows." Instead, flip the company name and keywords to read "Connecticut Storm Windows - Joe's Carpentry." I can't tell you how important that is. In short, when crafting title tags for your company, think "keywords first, brand second."

Cheers!
Ken

hi

Totally agree title tags, in fact all the meta tags are highly underated in your quest for search engine dominance, i work with local businesses getting them online, and using these tags is a huge part of increasing a local businesses rankings.
I think key to any meta tags or search engine rankings are your keywords, do your keyword research right and you can rank for any word. Best Keyword guide I have found http://mydlb.com/link/keywordGuide
Am looking forward to your part two of SEO title domination.

Well, although title tags are very important, the most crucial part of SEO is still quality backlinks.

Go google search "coolest guy" you will see why. Brad Fallen's site does not have any single word about coolest guy or being cool, he ranks number on among other sites which have coolest guy as title tags.

I wrote a post about getting massive good backlinks here earlier http://internetmlmunderground.com/blog/ ... -pagerank/
