Backlink From Ezine Articles To Blog

Postby Perig Vennetier on Wed Dec 23, 2009 8:10 pm

Hi everyone,

One quick question:

I post a new article on my blog and I post the exact same article on EzineArticles with a link pointing back to my article for example.

What is that going to give me:
- PR juice?
- Just a backlink?
- Nothing?

Thanks.

Both,..
PR juice and Backlink.....
I would worry less about the PR Juice thing..just get your backlinks...and Google loves Ezine anyway

To answer your question specifically - backlink. Though there are some more benefits in my experience - I ranked higher on Google with my articles, quicker than my blog. If you put in the right resource box you will also drive very targeted high quality traffic as well. I drove 1200 unique visitors with 7 articles on Ezinearticles in a period of 7 days.

Thanks for your answers guys. I was wondering because I head that when you the "exact same article", google will take the backlink, help my blog rank higher but it will discard the ezine article for rankings because it has been duplicated from another website.

Perig,

I had the same experience with google removing my ezine article when I posted the exact same article to my blog. To get around that, change a few words and sentences around in the blog.

Ezine Articles is a high PR so it is a great place to put your articles with backlinks to your blog, website.etc. As Ms. White noted - make a few changes to your article - especially in the title and the first and last paragraphs. Keep posting new articles as often as possible, the more the better. Remember to make sure that they offer value to the reader, and to use your keywords.

Its impossible to outrank EZA articles using your mere blog. If your blog has some PR like EZA then I think your conclusion would be true. But if your blog has just little or no PR at all and has below 100 total baclinks. then don't expect to outrank EZA articles. :D

Be careful of duplicate content. Whilst not particularly harmful, you do not get double marks, to use a metaphor, for posting stuff twice. Link your ezine article profile to your home page and use another, permissable, link to another aspect of your offering.
For example, I specialize in corporate culture development, so I write something the following in author boxes which allow two links: Author Malcolm Evans is a specialist who helps develop strategies which lever off explicit business ethics to marry corporate goals with human satisfaction.
You would be better off re-writing what you do for your own blog and for ezine articles - change the title, make sure the first two paragraphs are substantially different even though they convey the same message - and mix up and change words and sequences in the rest, adding some more in and taking some out where appropriate, For SEO purposes it is very easy in this way to get effectively two article for nowhere near twice the work.

Thank you all for your input.

I asked the question in a first place because I have time to write one original article but I am getting behind day after day if I rewrite the article to have it 30% different (for Google) and still do all my other marketing stuff (I could outsource but I'd rather not at this point). So I was wondering what I would "loose" or not have if I get to not rewrite my articles.

I am not concerned about duplicate content because as long as there are links between the articles it is fine (it's like a republication). I post on my blog first and then when it is indexed, I post it to Ezinearticles.

If the Ezinearticles goes higher is SERPS fine, I'll get some click through hopefully to my resource box links.

The method I use is to break the article into thirds. I have the original article. I then change wording in the top 1/3, then again in the middle 1/3, and then again in the bottom 1/3. Since proofreading is neccessary anyway, I take the proofreading time to "churn" the article into, at minimum, 4 articles.
