Social Media Marketing: What are your thoughts?

Postby Joe Pariseau on Thu Oct 27, 2011 8:13 pm

The popularity of Social Media like Facebook and Twitter has gone viral. It’s amazing how four year old children manage to create their own Facebook accounts even before they learn to write with a pencil. This is just one proof that Social Media has become very famous among internet users today.

It is the place where people communicate with each other. They ask for recommendations on certain services or products that they need. Since they are already on the Facebook window, the first they will do is type your company name on the Search box within the site. Creating an account for Social Media and being active on it will increase your visibility to millions of users all over the world.

The main instant response is YES. Do it! The reason - it's good old word of mouth, carried over to the electronic world. There are so many precedents from early styles of marketing that say this is a real way of connecting people and ideas in a way that comes almost naturally. Even to some of my previously Internet Luddite friends.

There are a number of programmes now that can really tune into the social graph of the users and present them with what is genuinely interesting and frequently what their friends give the thumbs up to. That's a powerful force that fits in well with the way human communications have evolved.

Right. The strategies on how to be visible in Social Media should be well thought of. To land on the top stories section, you will need to create buzz in the network. Look for way to grab the attention of your audience. You just might get them to like your posts.

Social media is indeed a need to improve one's online visibility and branding quicker than ever. And now when Google already launched SPYW, it just forced people to use Google+ (not a bad idea though to influence your search results). Facebook, linkedin and twitter gives great and direct business with minimal investment. My thoughts are very positive and it works perfect with SEO...

Hi Joe,
Social Networking...everybody's doing it. Social Media Marketing...everybody's doing it.
If you want to put your business in front of the masses, you have to go where the
people are, plain and simple. Another advantage is that it is totally FREE and free
is always good.
One aspect of marketing that is often overlooked is building relationships. When I get
into my car and go to, lets say for example Walmart, (where I spend way too much
time and money), relationships are not important at all.
But internet marketing is different. People are not going to purchase anything from
you, or in some case even click your link until they have some sort of ongoing
relationship with you. It's through social media marketing that relationships are
built.

Social Media is opening up many avenues for internet marketers today. Twitter and FB are the places to be! If you don't have either accounts, you are considered to be a neanderthal man!! Even my nephew who is just 13 years old has an fb account!
