If you take copywriting seriously you'll want to read (multiple times)

Robert Collier, Joe Sugarman, Claude C. Hopkins, Victor Schwab,
David Ogilvy, and John Caples. You can look up the authors and
make your choices - they represent the canon of effective
copywriting.

You can spend a lot of time browsing "how to write copy" stuff
on the internet - the Halbert Letter, Michael Fortin, Clayton
Makepeace's "The Total Package" - but what really matters is
that you apply yourself and write a lot of copy and become
skilled in your own right - you learn by doing it and evaluating
your results.

My favorite copywriter is Dan Kennedy, and the book "The Ultimate Sales Letter" is a great resource. His website is http://DanKennedy.com and his courses are for sale at the http://gkicwebstore.com, although it is currently offline.

John Carlton is also a very good copywriter. His blog is at http://www.john-carlton.com.

Joe Vitale wrote a great book on copywriting titled "Hypnotic Writing", and it's very good.

Gary Bencivenga is the master "hands down"! ...and if you get on his newsletter, you'll learn tons...
But, I can't help but mention that really, Copywriting is only a small part of the big picture.
No matter how great your copy is, it's only as effective as your "offer" (I'm not trying to be controversial, and I know this might piss alot of people off, BUT ...and yes I know about Joe Vitales 80%+ conversions, but look at his offer...nuff said. I VOTE FOR: Marketing Bullets.com
