Why do I keep getting connection requests?

Postby Zoe Petropoulos on Tue May 13, 2008 1:34 pm

This may seem like a stupid question. I am a newbie & dont really have that much to offer (as yet) so I am always a little surprized when I get a connection request.
Whats the whole point of it all? Are suppose to go around & request connections with everyone so they can see our primary opportunity & vise versa?
Some feedback would be great, as at this point I dont see the value in it.
I am I missing something valuable??

This is a very active community. There are conversations going on all over the place and many of them are outside of the forums.

When someone sees your profile, they want to say Hi! and welcome you to the forum as well as to let you know they are available for help or comments.

As marketers, we are interested in seeing what other marketers are doing.

This is a great place.

Hello,

I guess some people see it as a way
to get their opp out there, kinda
like those people with 20000 friends
on myspace.

I ran into the same problem when
I started, I just declined them
all with the exception of people
who seemed genuine.

I'd rather have a few good associations
then 500 people wanting to be my "friend"
to get their profile seen.

Works like that in life also don't you
think?

John

P.S. There's actually still one guy
I think was banned I can't delete
for the life of me, any ideas on
how to get him off my list?

Hi Zoe,

It's all about building relationships. Sometimes you connect because you have a lot in common. Some people like your articles or blog and want to be able to come back and see what other good stuff you put out there. When someone request me as a contact I take it as a compliment because it means they took the time to read my profile. It's all helping each other out.

I never decline anyone. I believe in the law of attraction. You never know when the universe will bring you someone for a reason. You never know who's life you could impact for the positive.

This is just my personal feelings.

Zoe,

I tend to agree with free money and Wendy.

When you join one of these forums, it's nice to input information that will be helpful to people. We try to answer questions and join in on as many threads as possible.

It is always great to meet new friends, and the MS forum is a great place to do that.

Everyone here usually has a good attitude, and if they don't, Carl the cop boots them.

I agree free money, if somebody pitches me right off the bat with their deal. I can them.
Otherwise, I accept all friend requests.

I hope you have a great time in this forum! It is a real neat learning place!

Thanks to everyone for your feedback!!
I have up to this point accepted all connecion requests, I just felt that people seem to have a mile long profile, years of experience & a stack of websites(some of which I check out) & I dont really have much to offer in return.
Anyway I am enjoying learning from everyone. So thank you!!

I always check profiles of those who make connection requests, I like people to have a picture as well as something about themselves. So I accept nearly every request.

Its the same on My Space. As long as someone has a good profile I gladly accept them.

I love Magnetic Sponsoring, and I love the people who are attracted to MS. Trust me if there is any negative connection request or negative posts they will not last at all. The love here is too strong, it will overpower everything else.

Zoe, you have so much to offer. Just be you! You are perfect just the way you are. We all have felt like we don't know a lot. I can tell you I am where I am because of my failures! LOL! I guess you could say I failed forward. I know now, what doesn't work and I share that with people so hopefully I can prevent them from making the same mistakes.

We all have a purpose and we all have something to offer! Thanks for accepting me as a connection. I feel honored to be your friend!
