Hey Friends, I was feeling burned out a week ago. I was tired and couldn't think clearly. It finally dawned on me that I needed to watch my health along with my business. I couldn't do one without the other.
I started exercising 30 min. throughout the week. Needless to say after one week I feel mentally energized. All I did guys was focus on getting my heart rate up for 20-30 mins a day. I wasn't pumping iron, I was just riding my bike and walking. I think the only muscle group I focused on was my abs last week.
Anyways I feel great today and more energized.
I also feel more productive in my business.
As you know, being an entrepreneur is competitive and takes a lot of mental creative energy. I was sorely lacking the other week, now I'm back on track. Just wanted to share this with you.
What do you think? Do you think there is a parallel between exercise and a productive business?

Re: Could be
Well,
It could be, I feel much higher energy and
more motivated when I exercise. I tend to
make recruiting calls directly after I
catch my breath because I'm on such a
high, I don't care what people say :-)

Re:How's Your Mental Energy?
Carl,
You definately make a good point. And I think there certainly is a connection. Not just between being physically active and your mental capabilities, but also between your physical health overall and your ability to function optimally.
I am always at the gym getting a workout (in part because I teach fitness classes in my spare time) but I do notice a difference when i don't work out.
I'm much more short tempered, I find it harder to concentrate and I'm less motivated to do things.
The point is, in order to have a healthy busines, we must also have healthy bodies and minds. They all work together. Its about balance. And that is what being in business for yourself is all about. BALANCE.
When you have time freedom, that means you have more time available to take care of your body by working out and eating better.
Thanks for bringing this up Carl.

Re:How's Your Mental Energy?
I completely agree with yall, i workout in the morning and feel like i can conquer the world, well ok at least the tasks that i have to do today! I have noticed that on the days that I skip it.... I feel lazy and way less productive... so to all of you that feel that you need a kick, try a 30 minute walk/run in the morning before you get your day started, maybe take your significant other and enjoy the morning and the reasons that we are here!
