Why NOT everyone pursues ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

Postby Shehzeb - The Visionary Young Entrepeneur on Tue Jul 08, 2008 7:53 am

I have been thinking a lot about what I have learned so far about being "independent & free" and what it truly means to be a REAL entrepreneur...

you know this make money online kinda thing is alien to people who are close to you...they think it's either a scam, or just a waste of time OR they don't even know it EXISTS...and is for this very reason, many of us will face obstacles from our elders especially parents if you are pursuing entrepreneurship and that too at a fairly young age...say 18-20 yrs of age...

it's like we are gona do a complete 360 degree flip and things will certainly start to not make sense because all these yrs we have been taught in schools to get good grades, get a degree and than eventually a job that provides security...well what if we know that there's a better way to live life? how do you answer to those close to you who think otherwise? how do you tell them that it's possible to create monumental success by becoming an entrepreneur? what do you tell them if they say if you can be rich by either by building a network marketing organization or becoming an info-preneur than why isn't EVERYONE else doing the same?

Well the ANSWER I believe is that you DON'T! Simply because if people can't realize your vision or they can't see the light, than there's absolutely nothing we can do to change their perspective...HOWEVER, we can INSPIRE by taking ACTION and proving to them that YES it is POSSIBLE...

Motivation isn't in our hands, and that is summed up perfectly by Mike in Magnetic Sponsoring...it's something that we must all feel from within...

VISION is also something that STEMS from within because without it you can't accomplish what you initially set out to do...

That is WHY not EVERYONE will pursue being an Entrepreneur...That is WHY we'll continue to have the rich, the poor, the working class...and that is WHY NOT EVERYONE is doing it...

Hmm had to get this outa my mind because I've been having some intense thoughts on this particular issue that I believe all of us face when starting out because we are not educated as to why isn't everyone joining a business or starting one...

you dig?

If being successful offline means studying hard, getting the right qualifications and getting a good job, then there really isn't that much difference to being successful online.

You still need to study hard, get the right skills, and get the right programme. No certificates at the end to say you passed, but you can check your site stats, commissions, numbers in your list, and so forth. They should give you a pretty good indication of what grades you're achieving!

Successful people know that anything worth having is worth fighting for. If they weren't doing it online, they'd be doing it offline.

And you're right. Some people will just never 'get' it. They don't see the similarities and they don't recognise the potential.
Okay, I finally opened up.

You see, some people just love to be miserable, complain how life is hard -- but they do not want to do nothing about it.

So just leave them alone, update them about your successes.

Just walk the talk!

When they see you succeed, they usually start to believing that they could be successful as well. And then they will be more determine to work with you :-)

Hope it helps,

Brett

Many people have found their "comfort zone" and they don't look for more or want more. Most are happy where they're at. Some of us want a little more, we need a bigger challenge, so we go for it. We have our "Why" and others have theirs.

Stephen you make a great point. Not everyone who is working a 9-5 JOB is unhappy. Some people really enjoy the routine of it all and the idea that they work x number of hours and get paid x number of dollars for that work.

There is nothing wrong with that if they are happy in that situation. After all, most business owners will need EMPLOYEES at some point. Who are we going to hire if nobody wants to work for anyone eles?

With that said. This whole, go to school get good grades and get a job thing is a relatively NEW idea if you think about it. Yes I said NEW idea. But hear me out before you jump on me.

If you go back 100 years in the US many people were in deed small business owners. It may not have been a networking business, but they were shop owners, or were farmers etc. They may not have had a great deal of time freedom in their small businesses, but they were business owners nonetheless.

So maybe its not so much the idea of moving away from our "get good grades" mentality, as it is more about moving BACK to our roots in this country and becomeing financialy independent.

One more thought.

Have you ever heard that the saying that some people just like to be TOLD what to do, while other like to make their own rule? Bottom line is there will always be leaders and followers and when it comes down to it, in order to be a business owner you CAN NOT follow the crowd you have to be a leader.

Just some food for thought.

I'd love to hear your comments.

I agree with you Keya, there are many people that have an employee mentality and really couldnt function as an entrepreneur. Actually, that is the majority of the population.

I think what holds many people back is fear. That can be crippling.

Many people think their destiny is determined by exterior forces....by their horoscope, their background, etc.

The truth is we can have and do whatever we want if the belief is there.

Many are just fine with mediocrity...sad but true. I can't imagine living a mediocre life. They are not willing to take control of their attitude. Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

For sure, not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur! People are like birds! There are alot more chickens in the world than there are eagles! I'm just glad that I'm an eagle because you either scratch in the dirt with the chickens or fly high with the eagles in the sky! I like flyin high myself!

That's why we are in the sorting business. We are looking for eagles! Are you gonna have some chickens in your business? Oh yeah! And some of the people you THOUGHT were chickens will turn out to be eagles and vice versa. It's all part of the program. You just can't get attached to who is what. Just keep on keepin on baby!

I believe it mainly boils down to fear and the need for security.

What many fail to realize is that the only true security is the one which you create for yourself.

I finally got tired of being passed over for promotion(s) because I didn't kiss tail. After having the top team in my division for 3 years straight, while being told that my work was average and I was lucky to keep a good team, I said enough is enough and quit!

Unfortunately, people spend too much of their life working to make someone else's dreams come true for a "guaranteed" check every Friday.

Entrepreneurship does take drive and perseverance, but for too many that is a scary thought.
