I'm frustrated and don't know what else I can do.

I have several methods I'm working on to promote the opportunity or benefit of owning a network marketing business, of working with ME, of You,Inc. and am testing a new theory I had that I saw someone else using.

Long story short, after going through a capture page, the lead is brought over to a page where they get a video overview that starts automatically when they get on the page.

At the bottom of the video it tells the lead that if they like what they saw to complete my form to request an interview. On the left side of my form (bottom fold of the page below the video) are bullet points about why us, why our industry, why our product line.... yada yada yada

When the person fills out the form, they get a thank you page that I have worked on and worked on to yet again pre-qualify this person for my time and it's just not working for me yet.

** My form asks them if they've watched the video all the way through and 99% say they have.

My thank you page tells the lead that they will be getting an email and they must click the email to confirm that they want an interview and that if they don't confirm, I will not call them.

My thank you page originally just had this written there and I recently added an audio that starts automatically that also states they must check their email and confirm. My audio tells them to leave the page open until they find the email and if they can't find it to email me direct and my email addy is posted on the site.

Here's where I'm frustated. This is a new page/theory I'm working on so only have about 30 leads that came through and requested an interview but not one of the 30 confirmed their request as I had asked them to.

Now, normally, when someone can't follow something this simple I would just let it go but what frustrates me is that not one person is following through and I just don't get it!

I'm wondering if I should take this qualifying step out (where they must reply to the email) and then just go ahead call everyone that comes through and fills out my form anyway OR, am I just proving to myself that if they can't follow this simple step they aren't qualified anyway and just leave it like that so as to weed out the lazy lookers as I am right now and put my time into more effective prospecting methods in other areas where I can find more leaders?

What would you do?

Sounds like you over qualifying to me... Link the URL to your capture page and the rest of us can give you our 2 cents. From your post it sounds like your capture page is very aggressive which is going to sour a lot of people from even opting in. What is your optin conversion rate look like for this new page. 30/???

What I think and again I need to dig into it further is that you haven't built any kind of relationship with your prospect. You are trying to hard sell them on network marketing and "telling" them why they need it. It sets the tone for your thank you page which further re-enforces the hard sell that if they confirm then someone is going to call them and try and convince them to join... I would remove that qualification step and simply tell them that in order to learn more about it they need to confirm there email because you hate spam, blah blah.... Perhaps even create a short video thank them and showing them what to do. That should increase your conversions and hopefully allow you to drip market to them for a period of time that will make it easier for them to contact you.

Dear Frustrated,

I have been in your shoes...I might be wrong but I think once a person gets to your thank you page they are at least interested in what you are offering by now and shouldn't be asked to doing anything other than what the "call to action" on the capture page tells them to do. Your autoresponder should do the rest as far as them qualifying.

People don't want to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to see what you offer. Your capture page should be used to capture their info, then you can have your marketing sell them the rest of the way. Or if you have them enter their phone number you can call them and interview them to see if they are right person you would want to work with.

Something on your page should say or audio should say only serious people need to apply for something like that.

Hi Frustrated,
From what you seem to be saying, the responses so far appear spot on.
One course I did on "opt-ins", was that people only wanted 1 click to get their answer!
The next thing is, you have your lead captured, now feed, farm & fatten them before you try to harvest them!
You know what your business is, but they don't, they responded probably to a great headline & saw that as an answer to their problem!
Now, it seems to them, you are giving them more headaches & they don't/won't go any further.
This type of marketing works better with high priced products, so I'd agree with the first response.

Can you please post the website you are referring to? It would make it easier to comment and make suggestions if we can actually see it and maybe even go through the process to see where the snag could be...

Congrats on all your efforts and kudos for just taking action! now 30 soon 300 and beyond!( but with better conversion of course)

Right now, I have two pages going, both are basically the same except one starts the video automatically, the other you have to click to start the video. To do some quick testing with this, I actually purchased redirect leads that are sent to my page after filling in the first capture page so that means the first capture page isn't mine.

This is actually the third test of this theory I'm working on using two different lead companies and both pages, where the movie started automatically and where they had to click to start the movie. When I first put the page up, and I didn't ask for confirmation, after calling a few leads and either having them tell me they have no idea what I'm talking about or not following through for one reason or another, that's when I added to my form "Did you watch the video all the way through" and "Please confirm" on my thank you page.

Still not getting people to confirm, I just added it to the thank you page in audio form the other day a voice message telling them they must reply to the email and although I've only had a few come through since adding this, still, no one is confirming.

Feel free to complete my form if you want to see how it works. I am the only person who will get your information, no one else. Please just put Better Networker in the first and last name area and that way I'll now and I can remove you later.

I filled out the form and am thinking to myself if I was a prospect would I want to give all this information without knowing you first?... I'm not sure. When I filled it out the first time it said I was missing important information and it wouldn't let me submit unless I changed it. So I realized I forgot to fill out the "current occupation". After filling it out it submitted. So I'm just thinking maybe you can request less information? Maybe just name, email and phone number? Just a thought.

As for people not confirming in their email. Here is what happens with me. As a network marketer, it isn't unusual for me to have hundreds of emails daily. Sometimes when I sign up on someones blog etc... I think to myself, that I'll confirm it later on. And then of course the next day when I go to confirm I decide that I'm not interested, or sometimes I don't even remember what it was I opted into. Make sense?

I'm not sure if this will help...

Ok, I checked your capture page. This is just my opinion:

Video went to 5 mins on why, which you need to show, ok. But five minuites? Then it went to the solutions. It needed to tell me solution after the first minute. Just my thoughts. Maybe you haven't much lean way in what video to use. I don't know but it's just a thought mate.

Now, here's next one. Like Wendy mentioned, I saw you needed my name, email, city, state, country, phone, best time to call, did you watch the video question, current occupation, reason for responding, do you have yahoo or messenger.

If I wasn't testing it, trust me, I'd be thinking, "this is a lot of info they want of me. Hmm, I don't know. maybe I'll just give my name and email only.

But, it won't let me submit. So I had to fill it in.

Now, when I submitted, BOOM! I felt you stressed a lot on checking my email. I could hear it in your voice.

Then...when I went to check, it was again, a big stress, with full caps YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR REQUEST BY REPLYING TO THIS MESSAGE.

That's when it hit me. I didn't want to confirm, even though I was testing page out.

I think that one, will put them off. Then again, below this caps, "you must hit reply and send this message in order..etc."

I think we need to sort out this copy but it is only a suggestion and my thoughts. I have to be transparent in what I felt when I went to the page.

I would have prefered, either a page to say, "please check your email to confirm" or "thank you. Please check your email and confirm."

I do believe in call to action but it just made me feel something and to not to confirm when I read these sentence especially...

You mention in your email "signup." But I didn't sign up to anything. I just filled in details to get more information. Knowing some of others, they'd be thinking same, "eh, I didn't sign up to nothin. I only filled in details for more info." You know how people are. They think sign up is sign up and not a term for filling in a form for information.

Hope I wasn't hard on this. Just my thoughts and everyone got their own opinion and thoughts. But hey, you'll find what really works best for you. I Just had to be honest here though.For me, a feeling of full on, hard sell kind of thing.

Wendy and Adam both, very good feedback, thank you. Adam, you can't be too hard, I asked for help and know that something isn't right so this is what I need. Maybe I was too frustrated (I am) and it showed and maybe that's turning people off?

This page was actually intended for two uses but thinking about it, no matter which way they come through to this page, it really wouldn't hurt me to just ask for name, email, phone and if they watched the video through. This will not be my "lead capture page" but my presentation page AFTER the LCP so yes, I can ask for less information. I'm going to cut the form back (later, my computer is running a scan right now)

I may be able to adjust the video as well, will have to look at it and see if and where I can splice it. Thank you for that.
