The Mindset of a Business Builder

Postby Jae Matthews on Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:30 pm

Hello Everyone, I Just Wanted To Share This With Newbies Or Current Marketers That Need A Refreshment :D
A Few Things I've Learned Along the Way!

Mindset Of A Business Builder

• It takes TIME to build a successful business. If you make ANY money in the first
few months (even if it is just a few dollars) it is PERFECTLY NORMAL.

• It is MY BUSINESS. Not my upline’s business or my downline’s business.
Everything depends on ME putting effort to succeed.

• Invest in TOOLS that brings in revenue (lead generators, viral e-books, generic
information, etc). Don’t buy books and tapes just for the sake of buying them.

• Don’t use your own money if possible. Most successful businessmen use other
people’s money (borrowed money either from relatives or financial institutions) to
build their business. Remember that cash flow is more important than revenue.

• Don’t blow all your money on advertising that doesn’t bring in cash flow as well.
Direct response advertising is one of the most effective ways.

• Focus on solving other people’s problems. Don’t recruit people just for the sake
of recruiting them. Try and understand what problems they are going through
first.

• Enjoying the journey! People who love their job always outperform those who do
it grudgingly. If your prospect sees you doing your business so grudgingly, will
they join you?

I appreciate your post Jae. I'm actually putting the final touches on a video series that speaks more about the business mindset. I talk about it a little bit in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0pG7b3S0dI F.Y.I. The series is actually a generic one, but I'm presenting it to my team first. But feel free to take a look at it. It has very very valuable information.

Very good points Jae. By the last point one thought occured to me - the journey is the reward. When fighting for our dreams, that "big thing" is the fact that we are fighting, we are in pursuit, we are developing our personality and skills. That's the true reward, who we become as a person, not the point when we achieve success.

The mindset will always b moe important than the business. Its not just "try to think positive" thing......

In business you have to have a mindset of success. You have to change your mindset to attracting leads & prosects. Putting people inside a system keeps them in the marketing process, and keeps you in good standing being as leader.

Nice points Jae,developing an entrepreneurial mindset is arguably the most important asset a person can have when building a business, you've got to be patient as well as putting your time in.Business success doesn't come over night its the process and proper planning along the way that will ultimately guarantee your success in the end.
Persistence and Determination is a must, training plus action equals success !And above all else don't ever quit.

Yes mindset and planning are great. However the biggest part I think is ACTION!!!!!!

Too many people fail because they fail to take action. If you do not take action by either learning, marketing, helping, you are not going anywhere.

Success - It begins with a burning desire, in the beginning it was all I had. I truly had to believe, have faith, a definite purpose, imagination, decision, specialized knowledge, persistence, the power of a Master Mind group, a plan of action (organized planning) to a definite end. I am developing my sixth sense and trusting it.

I think that caring comes a lot into the mindset of a business builder too. In order to have a business that truly prospers you have to care if others prosper too. If your whole down-line can't stand you or bails quickly, then you've made a little money upfront, but not too much residual.
Caring seems to be the next wave of marketing and business building. Remembering to care and put your focus away from the money (although we all want to make the money) actually generates a stronger business. Especially in Web 2.0 and social networking.
Thanks for the tips!

Great Post Jae! Sometimes we just
need to stick to the basics and do
the work. The fundamentals can so
easily be overlooked. I enjoyed reading
your post. It was a great reminder!
Thanks..

Great post Jae - a welcome and sensible reminder. I wrote about this recently on my blog. The point is; do two things to achieve more: 1) build yourself into a more valuable resource to others by improving upon your skill set, 2) APPLY the new skills being learned. I believe there are far too many people who think they're being productive just by reading books, listening to CD's and do other things to build upon their knowledge...BUT, they do not do a damn thing with all the new skills! What good is investing the time, effort and money to learn new things if you're not gonna use hte new things being learned???
Struggles of today can evaporate tomorrow. Have faith -
pain relief is oh so close.
