The reality folks is that times are tough. I don't care how upbeat you are or even how well your particular niche of the business world is thriving right now. There are many people struggling and many network marketing companies who have taken a hit. That is reality.

So where does that leave you and why am I writing this post?

You have a choice. Those who continue to forge their path and have the support, the tools and the skills to keep a positive outlook and steady forward progress during this time period will be the ones who will thrive. For the purpose of this forum, please share what you are now doing to keep both yourself and your downline on track. You input will be beneficial for all. As a leader in the industry, I feel part of my role right now is to prevent people from getting discouraged by offering concrete ideas, information, tools, steps to take and support. I'd love you to be part of this focus by adding your comments and thoughts.

To keep myself & my downline on track, we participate in a weekly mastermind call. It is a well known fact that all successful people participate in a mastermind group - a group of people who have each other's best interest at heart - a group of people who are accountable to each other- a group of people who work on their individual selves more than they work on their businesses. It is also a known fact to have more we must become more - we prosper in our finances to the degree we prosper in our souls. You can call it staying close to the fire. That is how we have and can continue to have an abundant mindset in this economy.

Having an abundant mindset would tell you: Things are changing, and that's a good thing.
An abundant mindset would tell you: Opportunity is everywhere you look.
An abundant mindset would tell you: All these people struggling are a river of new contacts.
An abundant mindset would tell you: Now is the time to show what you are truly made of.
An abundant mindset would tell you: (You Fill In The Blank ...)

Living from a place of abundance doesn't mean you adhere to some hoity-toity whimsical ideology of "I don't acknowledge so it isn't there" mentality, but it does see the negative as an absolute in order for good to exist.

We all have our battles; internal and external.
How we allow those battles to shape our mindset will ultimately decide our future.

A positive mindset is a daily practice. It's a choice... sometimes a difficult choice, but still a great option!

Having a positive mindset isn't an on or off thing. There is a whole spectrum in which it falls. Knowing where I fall on any given day helps me prepare for that day. There are days I don't look at the news and there are days when I take hand fulls of change around to wishing wells. I guess being positive to me means taking action. Even a small little action can create a huge wave of positive energy for me.

I really like this.
I have found that taking action on anything will be positive for me.
When concentrating on a particular task your mind is occupied with
what you're doing and doesn't have time to run around your head
causing trouble by dwelling on things you can't do anything about.

That's a great way to beat the blues.

Of course, the challenge is that it's much harder to take the first step
when you're caught up in the loop of negativity.

You've raised an issue which can become quite emotional for many.

Some of my own thoughts on this...

Yes, the economy is rough - a lot of people are hurting right now, and in many ways.

Many are worried about foreclosures - high debt - their jobs (losing them or finding new ones).

Most are concerned about their savings / investments / paying for higher education for their children / their own retirements.

This economic environment is considered the worst financial downturn since World War II.

And yes, it is very "tough" for most to have a positive mindset during this upheaval.

The reality is - none of us will pass through this life without adversity.

The challenges we will face might be - medical - financial - marital - spiritual - legal - whatever - but LIFE does happen.

As hard as it might seem - I am convinced that one of the "best" ways to help cope during these times is...

GRATITUDE - No matter HOW bad things may seem -- there are always people that are far worse off than we are.

Many people who order their lives rightly, in all other ways, are kept in POVERTY by their “lack of gratitude”.

I believe it is impossible to feel worry, anger, depression, fear - or any other negative emotion - in the presence of genuine GRATITUDE and THANKFULNESS.

This is because - when we’re IN that state of gratitude, and being thankful - we “attact” good things to us.

We cannot be GRATEFUL and UNHAPPY at the same time.

what a great post,
taking action each day is one of the keys. always loved this quote " you don't have to get it right you just gotta get it going."
Masterminding with like minded people and staying away from the negative nasty know it alls, who don't do anything except complain.
Personal development- keeping up with investing at least 10% of the day in self development is key
Encouraging business associates and being generous with your recognition of others.
All assist with maintaining an abundant mindset.

I can understand how it would be difficult for the average person to stay positive while their economy around them is collapsing. However, as entrepreneurs we have a fantastic opportunity to help others solve
a problem.
Would you agree there are really only 3 ways to keep up with the economy?
1) Increase Income
2) Cut Costs of Living
3) Do Both

So, if you have a viable means of helping people do any or all of the above, you have helped solve a persons problem and gained a valuable relationship.
As the financial noose continues to tighten around the necks of the average person, odds are they will be more willing to listen to your solution.
History tells us that many many millionaires were created during the Great Depression and now we are coming into a time of "Repeat" on a larger scale . As the dollar continues to become worthless, people will need to start acquiring a whole lot more of them or suffer the consequences for not doing so .
So, maybe rather than "Pitching the opportunity", pitch the fact that you are a problem solver and find the people who have the "right kind" of problems to solve. They are everywhere! , Hope this helps your abundant mindset because there is a whole world out there looking for solutions, both online and off.
I have to go now, I need to find someone with a problem I can help solve
