Gurus

Postby Victor Liesner on Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:31 am

Every moment of every day I see so much from the “gurus” My email is full, my junk mail is full, social media sites are all full of “gurus” promising me I can make 5 figures a month working in my underwear from home, all you have to do is... "Buy my course" (full of manuals 500 pages thick that nobody ever reads) "buy my coaching program" ($1000 a month and I hand you off to some $10/hour college kid)"come to my seminar" (where I'll put a bunch of other 'gurus' on stage so they can pitch you for 3 days straight)"watch my webinar" (where I'll bore you to tears droning on about SEO, social networking and other geeky junk) Is this the only way to make money online?

No the idea is to search and find something that will help you. Find the ones that will actually help you set for free. The idea is to get it in front of people. If you don't know how to use PPC or ads and such. It could cost you a hell of a lot of money.

No, not the only way.

Building relationship with people, just get to know them, find out what they into, see what they doing, get to know more about them and they about you. Find out what their problems are instead of shoving stuff at them.

Go LIVE, on the phone, skype, chat with them. Get them to know you.

And you'll make money that way too.

You can give by listening. You can give by finding out more about the person, their interest, their business. Ask more about them and build relationships.

Hi Victor,

I agree with you its quite a horrible thing right. However that already tells me that you are one step ahead of the rest.
Those who choose to waste their time doing this are of real no value.

Look for sites that add value to the web, have information that resonates with you personally, please do not get sucked into these scams and take your time !

It took me a while to get to grips with the internet marketing world , but once it clicked, wow I will never turn back

All the best, maybe we can connect
Paul.

Yes selling info products and training can be very profitable. I do it too along with my networking business and I make a pretty good second income from them. However, I do not send tons of emails, charge lots of money or any of the other BS that you see floating around. My most expensive product costs about $32 with shipping and most are in the $17-$25 range. Quite frankly with a few exceptions most products are not worth more than $100. Mike Dillard's MLM Traffic Formula being one of the exceptions. I market my products on my generic network marketing site and in my biweekly ezine, on my blog and in a few other places and although they have not made me rich yet, I do quite well. However, just like the others said building relationships and then over time bringing in some of those people into your business is even more profitable.
Finally, the truth about online network marketing. Learn about the myths and truths about the internet and network marketing.

This is true there is a lot of junk out there but when you find that value you need to use it and practice it every day when working from home online Marketing does work but i have seen people come and go the ones that want it the most and the one's that are willing to push out the most value will have success

Well here's my take on the subject, I posted it earlier today but I don't mind repeating it (i'm not proud).
This situation is ludicrous. People are coming onto this board without any knowledge whatsoever and claiming to be 'Guru's and Mentors'. Yesterday someone asked for a site to be critiqued and was told to change it so that they 'sounded like a leader' leaders already sound like leaders people that are training sound like people training to be leaders! and that is what they should sound like.
The hypocrisy of some of the so called 'Guru's on here who one minute are claiming to 'teach' people and then the next minute they are saying "it's not our job to teach people, this is their own business, nothing to do with us". Don't get me wrong I know that there are some great teachers on this site, people like Diane Hochman, Mike Dillard and many others but they have paid their dues and they can prove it, but please lets have some sort of test or measuring stick so that before someone can start making bogus claim's that they have to provide real definite proof both to the members and to the people running this site...by the way did I mention that I am a Doctor, a Lawyer, a Veterinary surgeon and an Astronaut so if anyone needs any help just give me a call..regards Jim T.
Ps: I know some people are gonna complain about this...I wonder why?

Victor, I agree with Jim on this one. Tool salesmen/gurus are in abundance. The only tools that you will ever need to purchase in order to be successful in internet marketing is 1) a product or service you are passionate about. 2) Your own domain name 3) a self-hosted website. The last 2 can be had inexpensively.

Everything else you can be taught. You won't earn a fortune overnight unless you are willing to do a considerable amount of work, but you can earn a decent living. Those choices are entirely up to you.
