I need someone to sponsor me.....

Postby on Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:52 pm

I've decided I wanted to join the World Ventures opportunity. I need to make sure I join under the right person. I've joined under the wrong person before with disastrous results.

This will kind of be like a job interview for you: tell me why I should join under you, what your qualifications, and how can you help me build my business?

Also, as a side point. How would you react if someone said this to you?

Thanks!

Hi Emily,

I am with World Ventures.

I am sure you know that network marketing is hard work. A great sponsor can help guide you and give you advice but can never take the place of your own efforts and abilities.

It is great to have one that has been through the ropes and built a big organization but that of course will not guarantee you will do the same under them.

With forums like this and all the tools now available to network marketers what you really need is a good system to build your team.

Warm regards,

Maria Rote

Emily -

It really depends on what you are looking for, not someone else "convincing" you why you should join under him/her.

I agree with what Cesar said about taking personal responsibility.

Hey Emily

I too am not with that company but I was wondering what kind of business you were wanting to build? Were you looking for an upline that already has a system and for you to just plug into that system? Or were you looking to build a business with someone where you two would be partners?

These kinds of things make a big difference. If you are looking for a sponsor, what do you want from them? If you do not know what you are wanting from them then it's all just one big waist of time. It's your business so you need to take charge and decide what you are needing and what you are willing to put in.

These are just my feelings though but I hope that you find someone that works well with you.
Good luck.

You don't "need" a sponsor.

If your looking for a leader to convince you, you got a very, very, very long wait mate. It's you who is looking. You who posted in forum.

A leader hasn't.

This alone can seriously disqualify you from having time with a leader. Change that mindset, and take time to get to know leaders.

If you did your homework, you would have already recognised, leaders do not chase nor do they convince or beg on why you should join them and not someone else.

Because to do so, to say someone is not better, to convice someone - is not leadership. It is desperate, needy and lacks character.

Rather, a leaders raises all tides and all tides raises all ships. So a leader would not say one is better than the other leader. Leaders are unified.

They will ask questions on what you want. You convince yourself and convince the leader for their time.

It's not how much the leader makes, it's how much you want to make.
It's not how a leader needs to convince you, it's how you need to convince the leader that he or she isn't wasting their time, and you have a desire, willing to listen, learn and apply.

That you will take responsibility for your future, your learning, your actions instead of banking on a sponsor. Leader can only show the way, and you are going to do the work.

Plug into one of the education systems, get to know them, be part of the inner circle, get on their email ezines and start learning.

Move from Beta to Alpha.

Because no leader is going to waste their sweet time convincing you why you should join their business. That mindset needs to change or you'll attract the very same beginners who want you to convince them why they should join you.

It will seriously drain you.

The comments you recieved here from others are bang on.

One thing I would tell you that a lot of people on here have missed so far. Do some more due dilligence on the company. I looked up the company website and in browsing for two seconds, two big red flags flew up in my face. First of all, the website doesn't have the compensation plan or the policies and procedures on it. Second, the product is a travel "membership". The reason this is a concern is because there have been several travel "opportunities" lately that have come out and taken off, but have amounted to little more than an illegal pyramid scheme (BIM, RCM, TVI). The one that came the closest to being a legitimate MLM opportunity was YTB and it got shut down by the SEC. Check out www.mlmwatchdog.com brilliant website by Rod Cook, President of the Distributors Rights Association (looking out for guys and gals like you and me) and if he doesn't have anything on there about World Ventures send them an email to check it out. Either way make sure you do your research before joining any company.

Hi Emily

A little story for you.
In a previous incarnation as an MLM'r I had an Upline who was tremendously successfull ! In fact he is to this day one of the top leaders in the company. I remember he said to me "If you stick with me I will take you where you want to go in this business."
Now I did stick with him for quite some time and felt quite uncomfortable most of the time...home meetings , 3 way calls, talking to anyone who is breathing about my business opportunity, you know ...those old chestnuts! My heart wasnt in those methods. To this day my Upline is still doing all these things and he is just getting more successful every year !
Now interestingly...the person who sponsored my Upline quit 3 months after he started. My Upline was left hanging without any help or "mentoring". He just got on with it and succeeded.
He didnt have a "mentor" at all...he was rudderless so to speak and i had him as my sponsor but was uncomfortable with his methods (actually i hated meetings/trainings etc) so I didnt get the success I wanted under this top leader. I should stress my upline is a good leader...he is a top producer..he is an excellent mentor. Just not for me.
The point is your Upline or Sponsor isnt going to do it for you. Its TOTALLY up to YOU.
You can get advice from your leaders and help ...but you really are on your own in this business when it comes to the ACTION phase. You will either DO what is required in this industry or you WILL NOT. Choose one !

Hi Emily,

Congratulations on your decision to re-enter the world of network marketing!

You have to find a sponsor who will put your best interests and success in front of their own. They must be plugged into a system that teaches duplication, a system of simple steps developed, from qualifying your prospect, quick sizzle overviews, 3 ways,........to closing your prospective recruit. If they are working a successful system of sponsoring, they will instill how important it is to keep the system simple, in place, and never deviate from it. You, of course, will teach the same! This is a simple business, not easy, but simple. Keep it that way for everyone involved with you. You will reap the benefits.

How would I react if someone said this to me? I wouldn't react, I'd respond. I'd respond with the above mentioned. My question for them would be how teachable are they?

Wishing you the best of success!

Ron
