Hi BN family
I recently went through the process of selecting another company as my primary business.
Not because I am looking for the silver-lining elsewhere, but because I wanted to represent a company I was really happy with and which I truly believe can make a big difference in people life.
Check out http://dwaynehuggins.com/my-network-mar ... -made.html for more background on my choice.
The research and decision process got me curious about why other people such as yourself chose the primary company you did?
What was it about your particular company that made you want to devote an important part of your life to it?
Let me know, I am very interested in what you were looking for in your company and your decision process.
Thanks up-front
Dwayne

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
Hi Dwayne
Interesting question, I'm always intrigued why people chose their opportunity.
For me, I sold my business back in June and was looking to do something part time online. I started researching various affiliate products but was concerned that I would have to sell a lot of them to make a good income.
I somehow stumbled upon my opportunity, Yournetbiz. I chose it for two reasons, I could contact the person directly which was very important to me. My sponsor is based in the UK which is where I am. The other deciding factors were it's high ticket commissions. I figured that regardless of the price of the product you would have to spend the same amount of time/resources marketing it so why not go for something where the commissions are higher. Another factor for me was that I get paid directly and then pay the company after.
I must admit it's quite overwhelming choosing the right product as there are so many out there and of course everyone tells you how wonderful theirs is!

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
I'll toss in my two cents on this question. My decision was based on "easy". I know that a confused mind always says no so I didn't want to represent a complex product like a vitamin with 75 ingredients or some magic berry juice nobody has ever heard of. Equally important is the retail price. People are so price conscious today that I did not want to be bothered with overcoming the price objection because a similar product can be purchased at the local store for 1/3 the price. Building a business is challenging enough, why not eliminate as many challenges as possible?
When you're in a position to convince people on the advantages of your product you're putting yourself in a hole. When you're working with a good quality, easy to understand product which is priced below its retail equivelant, you've got a recipe for success. So, that's what I was looking for, it's what I found and business is going swimmingly!

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
For my main business which is my Scrapbook design. I choose that because I love doing it. I love being creative and making something out of nothing. Because I'm starting from ground zero there is still so much that I need to learn how to do. Unlike my fitness business there is no easy business model to follow. Now my fitness business I choose because I figured that I might as well get paid for doing something I like

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
I chose the company I am with for a few different reasons...Actually I have been looking for what I would call a good company (a company the masses could win with) to partner up with for quite some time now. I finally found such a company and they have what I have been looking for. Not only for myself but for my new business partners joining me in the business.
If I can help them win and earn money so do I.
My first very important concern was the compensation plan and could average people have success with it. Being in this industry for twelve years now I have studied and been a part of a few different companies and been a part of a few different compensation plans.
What I have found with all of them ( at least the ones I was with) was that there were lots of hoops and hurdles to jump through making it very hard for an average person to be able to win with. I wanted a comp plan where I could bring my own mom into and know deep in my heart that she could have massive success with it if she applied a little effort.
I was looking for a compensation plan that paid on product movement where I or anyone that joined up with me did not have to be at some certain rank in order to qualify to be paid on that product movement. In other words...if product is moved weather it be from my efforts or someone in my organizations efforts I want paid for it no matter what rank I have reached yet or that my business partners have reached yet. I want them paid also. And I want them paid by our company the same week that it was earned.
You see, I no longer look at what not only can I do for my company to help them grow but also what can they do for me to help me grow. I feel in too many companies its all about them. Bottom line...They need me to grow and I could use some help from them at the same time helping me grow. I mean it is supposed to be a mutual partnership, right?
My company business choice also had to be one where it was very attainable to earn your start-up money back with some profit your first one to four weeks in business. And by month two your product was covered with money left over in profits. If you can help people to start earning money there first month most people will stay for the long haul and you can enjoy retention long term along with long term residual income from it.
All the past compensation plans I have been a part of all had rank qualifications attached where product was moved but was simply not paid out to people because they were not at some certain super duper double diamond rank in the comp plan. I mean why should it be reverting back to the company or just lost somewhere if certain ranks are not attained yet? Or if people in your downline don't reach certain rank levels also stopping you from earning income when product was moved. Its Bullshit and I am no longer going to play that game.
My company also has twelve bonus pools paid out monthly. From the day I partnered up with my company everyone that joins after I did no matter who they joined with, there product movement is put in my business volume. As of right now only after 2 months I qualify on 6 out of the 12 bonus pools just from my companies growth and that I had no effort on my part to reach. My business partners love this! It causes big time excitement which causes growth for everyone.
And last but not least...No business kit to buy. Everything needed is online for free to get you going. My company is also main stream Internet savvy. You are encouraged to build online as well as training to support those efforts. The products also had to be in high demand and affordable to all with options for people to buy these products simply as customers if they choose with no hoops and hurdles to jump through in the process or outrageous prices.
Another very important thing was I wanted no Hyped up Bullshit with flashy company websites showing piles of money or multi-million dollar homes in the back ground with the two hundred thousand dollar car in the driveway. My company is simple and they don't have to use Hype to attract people to join them.
So there you have it...That is why I'm with the company I am with today. None of us have to put up with lost compensation because you may not have reached some certain rank level. Demand more from your company choice and you will get more because bottom line is this...You don't have to put up with that crap. Your company needs you just as much as you may need them.

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
Good questions and one everyone should ask themselves before they join any MLM.
Can the average person make significant money if they are prepared to expend the energy in a relatively short time span (a year).
Availability of tools, training, good upline support, excellent products, what was the owner's focus, longevity of business were what I was looking for.
Didn't arrive at that immediately, had to join those that didn't work first to know what I was searching for.
To your success,
Joyce Penner

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
As usual Dwayne, you always give us something to think about.
Actually it was my wife that got us into the business we are still in after 8 years. We both were working an incredible amount of hours and basically never saw our kids. At that time, there were not a ton of choices in the work from home industry, however she heard an ad on the radio and decided to check into it. At first, she just wanted something to let her stay home and spend more time with the kids, plain and simple.
With my situation, I would say what is it that has kept me with this company. That is easy for me to answer. It is the people first and foremost. Even though we are all in business for ourselves, everyone within the organization is committed to helping others succeed. This starts from the top and filters all the way down to the newest member. Actually knowing and becoming friends with sidelines, makes the experience so much more. Second to this would be the incredible products that we market. In today's society, the health and wellness of the world is in question and nutrition is becoming more important. Ok, I am getting a bit off topic, but I just love the products and want everyone to benefit from them.
To me, what did/would I look for in a business opportunity? That would have to be a team/mentor that is willing to assist me in building a successful business, a product line that I believe in, which is all backed by a solid company or affiliate company which has a history of consistent growth.

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
I chose my main business for three reasons:
1. One time purchase of a real product.
2. No monthly minimums or autoships.
3. Residual money is generated by the activities of people who don't even know it exists.

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Primary Business?
Here are the 8 things that I was looking for:
1. Low Startup Cost: ($44.95 total)
2. Great Price Point: (When You compare the service with all the tools included under one roof there is no one else. If someone does know of another company please be sure to let me know).
3. Duplicatable: (absolutely)
4. Easily Automated: (fully)
5. Easy to Deliver: (no delivery required)
6. Free Download/Trial: (2 week $1.00)
7. Upselling Potential: (somewhat if you choose)
8. Owner is Passionate: (moved his entire company and family to a new country (United States from Canada) for the future growth of the company).
Additionally there are about 100,000 new websites being registered everyday who all have to have the service we provide. And I think we all know the internet is only going to continue to grow).
But more importantly if your serious about being successful on-line and "Branding You" as they say it doesn't matter what other Network Marketing Company your primary business is with. You still need these tools and service we provide, so you can continue growing your business, we just make it more convenient and cost effective.
If you haven't figured out what company this is just click on my profile and click on the first link under my websites, you'll see the company that scored a 79 out of 80 based on my grading scale.

Hey everyone.
Thanks for your responses so far. It's really great to understand peoples choices and reasons for doing things.
There are a lot of varied answers here which highlights the fact that although we are all in the same industry we have many different paths to take to reach our goals.
