1. They are always making some kind article that does not contain value or their answer to your problem is joining their business.
2. They claim that they are an expert , but when you have general questions about something that will help you they turn it around and talk about their company .
3.They claim that they will help you make all this money...when you sign up with them they leave you hanging ..you never hear from them again.
4. B.S. networkers are very selfish...the only time you may hear from them is when there is no productivity in their back office from your hard work.
5. They don't care if your leg has been blown off by an ak-47...they don't care if you had a major tragedy in your life..they only care about why your not working .
6. They are very unrealistic...which makes their team think that they could have all this money in a short period of time..."90 days I guarantee that if you join me you can have this!". Anyone can stand in front of a bently and take a picture. Flash a few checks with their name on it.....say they made all this money ...now they have 1,000 people trying to do the same thing . This only applies to the one's that claim success not the one's that have achieved it.
7. They prey on innocent people..false promises...false hope..... you name it
8. You subscribe to their list .....they pitch their business...a million emails in your inbox about company xyz.Now you tell me the value in that .
9.You pick up the phone to connect with them...you get the bloody answering machine or some pitchy voice mail with some lame message about making money from home.
10. After you have joined one business with them....now they have found another opportunity they want you too join them there....what is this follow the leader...duck..duck goose? As soon as you hit me on the head with one company....I have to chase you around before you get my spot! One of us are going to be standing alone...one us are going to be sitting and collecting checks. Which one will it be ?

Hi Neisha,
LOL... Sorry... I can only laugh because I've seen SOooooo much of each of these and recognized them all right away. As I was reading, I was thinking if you were to set this up as a "David Letterman Top 10 List" kind of thing, I would think that your number 10 should be at the top Number 1 because I think this is where a LOT of people fail in their businesses. They don't see the instant million dollar checks rolling in, so "this program" must suck... I bet "that program" is better, not realizing that persistence is a huge part of the success formula.

Richard_Kaulfers wrote:Now to make this post even better..You have 20 things to spot a good team/marketer.
1. When you do call they get back to you within 24 hours of not sooner.
2. They expect you to work and not have to baby you all the way through.
3. You will buy or get educated somehow. (Hard knocks or learn from them or get into some class).
4. Calls the companies bluffs and BS when they are messing up in the offices.
5. Wont even work with you until you show that you are willing to do what it takes.
Go ahead, fill in the rest.
Here is a challenge I am charging you guys with...look for the good and what you like in every situation. Even if its just how the weather is at the moment.
Great points, Richard. Here are five more....
6. They teach you the basics, show you where you can find information when you need it and then turn you lose to learn on your own.
7. They support you and encourage you to attend company trainings, conference calls and events.
8. They lift you up when you are down.
9. They tell you openly what you can expect and that it won't be an easy road but a journey well worth it.
10. They are more than happy to be your sponsor. But they will also let you know that it is just like being on a tandem bicycle. They will peddle as hard as you do. Slow down when you slow down. Stop when you stop. And when you are heading for a cliff, they will jump off

Re: How to spot a B.S. Network Marketer
I am new to this site and loving all that I am learning! I have to giggle at the lists and how many of them I have seen while out networking at events. Amazing to think that I would want to follow and be coached by anyone that is so "all about them" and what they think they are offering me. The ONLY person that thinks that is their parents (hopefully).
LOVE the Top 10 list! I continually try to improve myself and show my genuine interest in others. When they only want to throttle me with their "offer", whether it be another company or themselves, I politely listen and question, would I want to work with them or even be their friend?!
This is a business, unlike any other where personal development, constant learning, getting out of your comfort zone and interacting with others you may not have otherwise is key. Having a supporting upline, or even cross-line (cousins as I call them) as well as resources such as this is what makes it all work.
Thanks for letting me share this adventure along with you,

Don't get me wrong with what I'm about to post...but looking from both sides as a customer and merchant, I see things in a way that might alarm some of you.
@John:
That's just marketing. Upsells are common, especially when it comes to selling information online. Robert Kiyosaki sold Rich Dad Poor Dad at a low cost and also has high end products and events. If you look at almost anybody that sells information in the network marketing arena, you'll see a lot of that too.
When I purchased Magnetic Sponsoring and Building on a Budget from Mike Dillard, he offered some great deals and I had no issue with that. While it might have been more expensive later on, that was my choice to pay now or later. If I paid sooner, it was a discount off the normal price.
Outside of MLM, there are many things sold at a premium and nobody complains. Take a look at places like Starbucks...and think about - does coffee really cost that much? Are you going to get ticked off and tell their customers that they're getting ripped off at buying super expensive coffee?
If Macy's had a sale and said buy now and save 25% off or wait and pay more later...is there anything wrong with that?
If you're on a email list that you don't like and you're getting millions of emails in a year, you had the choice of unsubscribing. If you purchased a product and you didn't like it, you could have asked for a refund in most cases.
As far as joining another business opportunity, it depends on how its pitched. If they want you to join another one for their benefit and disregard the previous one(s), that does suck unless the previous one really did suck, changed to bad management, or just simply didn't work anymore. If they want you to join another one to create multiple income streams and they're upfront with that, I have no problem earning more than 1 paycheck.
With all of that being said, false promises, B.S., get rich quick scammers, etc. suck and I totally agree with that.
@Richard @Ilka - really good points!

Neisha, it's really sad when good people are "hurt" by these people who package information and try and sell it at an unreasonable price. I do agree that in order to run a business, money has to be spent but it's when money is wasted then it becomes a problem. You have to be careful of these so called "internet gurus." We have to ask ourselves, if what their doing is duplicate able and can you show your own team how to do.
Recruiting 1000 people in 1 day isn't impressive if the next day 800 are gone and you've took people's money to give them a false sense of hope, we have to be careful doing business over the internet because we aren't face to face with most of our people.
