Hey Gordon,

Its funny you ask that because it is the same question/answer we have been going over with my team. In the past 60 days I personally did some keyword research to find keyword phrases "frustrated networkers" might be using to find out how to generate more leads online. Then I wrote articles for these keywords and posted them on my blog. Promoted the back by getting backlinks. Now ALL six of these pages rank on the first page of Google and have produced over 300 opt-in leads so far. Pretty cool. See my free http://robfore.com/bootcamp/ to learn the specifics.

Hi Gordon
Interesting question considering I had just completed a Blog post this morning after doing my daily marketing tasks. I was commenting on the little tricks of creating a signature which has a call to action or a link back to a capture page etc. basically a vital element of your forum marketing strategy to gaining new leads. It is imperative that you keep all links within your signature and NOT the main body of your reply... Rob tut tut...come on you should know better... this just becomes known as spamming doh!

My reason for making the post was that I noticed so many people going to the effort of offering great advice but then not having this link back to their own sites. This is a must. But to answer your question personally as to where I get most of my leads it is a combination of Facebook and ppc marketing within Facebook. This is a fantastic market place where people are just networking everyday and looking for that right opportunity.

Obviously forums would also be right up there regarding free leads (although it can be more time consuming) and is a personal favorite of mine. Thanks for throwing out the question Gordon as it is something that everyone wants the answer to! I look forward to following this thread to see what others are up to.

Cheers for sharing Rob & Adrian.

It is an interesting question that everyone seems to search a lot and talks about especially newbies. Let see if we have more response on this question.

Hi Gordon, PPC, Forums, Facebook, Blog, Articles, Classifieds

1. Fast & Short Term - PPC, Facebook

2. Slow BUT Long Term - Blogging, Articles, Forums and also wanted to include SEO

I have never used Classifieds.

.

One place practically every "internet marketer" I talk with seems to overlook is direct referrals.
You know ... "old school" networking.

But it doesn't have to be done with "old school" technology.

1. Jerry Clark said it best 15 years ago when I first heard it and it still stands as some of the best advice I've ever heard ... You need to inject 2 formulas deeply into your overall marketing strategy: TTP and TTMP

TTP = Talk To People
If that doesn't work out so well, then move to formula 2 ...

TTMP = Talk To More People

It's not rocket science ... just simple social skills.

If you're an internet marketer, then you should have a list (or building one) ... TALK to them.
Yeah, talk to them. Instead of bashing them with every stupid affiliate offer that comes out each week, try talking to your list.

Ask them for referrals. In tech terms there's a script called "Tell A Friend" ... Do you use one?
If not, you're missing out on a massive viral aspect of your marketing.

But of course you actually need to be building rapport with your list for this to be effective.
Again, if all you do is try to cleverly disguise "buy my shit" messages all day as "value" then you probably won't get a single referral.

Your own list should be one of the most valuable, closely guarded and protected assets in your marketing efforts. But most people abuse it like a $0.25 ride in front of Walmart.

Anyway, that's just one way you could drum up more leads.

Or go the other route and just keep pouring hundreds of dollars into PPC and Facebook ads and media buys and this and that - all the same old answers you here time again.
Cross your fingers and hope something changes.

 Maybe an untested classified ad strategy might work ...

The way I would answer that question is by pointing out that there is really not one place to get MORE leads from. What there is are MANY places to get leads from but In my experience, if you want more leads, it's not much about where you get them from as it is "what you're offering" If you don't have an offer that's good enough, it doesn't matter what you do or where you go, leads will not come in.

People opt into your capture page for one reason and one reason only. You have something they want. If you've ever entered your name and email in a webform, it's because you wanted something someone was offering.

So the question to ask is, what can I offer that is so valuable that people will be willing to give me their contacts and stay subscribed to my list so I can continue building a relationship with them?

One thing I learned from Jerry Clark and Tony Robbins is that if you want better answers, ask better questions and that's what I do.

I get most of my leads from Articles but that's because I submit articles to over 1000 sites at least 3-4 times a week and I give them an irresitible offer that makes them want to know more about me and how I can help them build their business.

If you start by offering people something that will truly solve a problem they're having, then it's just a matter of picking any of the places you mentioned (facebook, ppc, articles or forums) and learning how to use it to provide value to people and I promise you they will become your leads if you prove to them that you can solve a problem they're having.

FYI,

Someone may have not understand the question here and instead promoting their old school networking expertise: the question was just to choose among these-
-PPC, Forums, Facebook, Blog, Articles, Classifieds-
Easy question so stop self promotion.

Hey, Brother,

I suggest you invest the time into learning the mindset of people learning the mindset of people looking for opportunities and then learn how to market to them.

Target existing MLM people because it's less hassle to deal with them. They already believe in MLM- so there isn't the hassle of trying to convince them that it works once you learn marketing tactics like Forum Marketing, Craigslist, FB, Pay-Per-Click, etc... You're going to be generating a lot more leads.

And at that point you can teach your prospects the same techniques and have them join your downline.

Hope this helps.

Loved your answer, Richard! Actually "Talking to our List" is what a lot of online marketers overlook. We build it and we send out our autoresponder messages but we forget to make it "really personal" by asking questions.

I recently got the "shock of my life" when I received an autoresponder email from an online friend of mine with the subject line..."Where Are Your From?" This started a very interesting back and forth conversation between the two of us finding out more about each other.

Now, why hadn't I thought of that??? :D
