Are Business Cards Dead?
I think the old boring business card is dead. I think today's business card has to continue the brand you have established. It need to have something compelling and a even more compelling call to action. Give them a reason to call you or go to your website!

Re: Are Business Cards Dead?
It's funny, I've never created a business card before (so it's obviously not an important asset in your business). That being said, I would definitely recommend a website like moo.com. Business cards shouldn't look like crap, so I would definitely take the time to invest in nicer cards.
Maybe I should grab some business cards...

Yes Rob, actually a good card with a catchy call to action is very helpful because you aren't always at the computer! Yes Moo cards are great.

Re: Are Business Cards Dead?
I truly believe in having a few business cards handy.
I use a triple business card. It looks like a regular business card, but it opens out into three times as large with a lot of information.
When meeting people you can't say everything you want to say and not mention the website, your phone number or the number to your company to order.
When people asked for information, you'll have everything handy on a business card for them.
Less time is wasted on the on-lookers and the tire kickers and all the information for the serious person who may want the information and will use it to their advantage.
Business cards are still useful tools that I use along with some handy brochures that explain more information for the curious buyer!
On the more serious buyers, I may carry some samples just for people who desire a small taste of the products.

yes Mario! You have a unique card, not the boring just name and phone number card. Its a mini-brochure! Sounds like that is working for you, and you are doing business where ever you are! Thanks for sharing!

Business Cards are lame when they are too plain or too simple. Here is my method with business cards. I start talking to a prospect about my biz opp, then I say I have to dash and give him/her my card with website and details on it and leave him/her hanging with that card. Most of the time people's curiosity just drives them to check out the biz opp

Yes exactly! The card has to be part of your brand.

Business cards are an important part of any business, especially a home based business. It tells clients/prospects how to reach you. Many opportunities have nice business cards you can order. And remember, they're a tax write-off. If ordering is not in your budget, you can make your own, or get free ones on-line.

Re: Are Business Cards Dead?
This is a great THREAD, I don't think Business cards are dead at all, On OR offline.
Online it could be via your signature file or some other means, OFFline, I have found the traditional Bus Card works VERY well, dependent on the Situation and what is written on it. I am not a fan of the 'mini brochure' no offence intended, but if it has a CATCHY call to action, that could be a line you use yourself or similar, then they work VERY well, i know from Experience.
So, short answer is, for ME, they are NOT dead!

Very good point Chris, thanks for sharing that. I have both made my own and ordered online. Vistaprint is a great source for good quality cards at affordable prices.
