I find it very interesting. Most people who know nothing about network marketing classify it automatically as a pyramid scheme.

They trust more in their current employment! They say that a pyramid scheme is where the people who are making the big bucks are those at the top...

This is so funny because if you take a look at the management of the company they work for... isn't it the same? Don't the people who make the most amount of money there are the ones at the top?

They are brain washed! They prefer to work for someone else all their lives, complain that they aren't making enough, etc. They let someone else tell them what they have to do and when to take vacations and to them it's the only way to live.

And they have the nerve to say that what we do is a pyramid scheme!

Boy do they need a wake up call!

Have you ever been told the same thing? What did you do?

I don't get anyone telling me I am in a pyramid scheme, however I do get them asking if what I am doing is one. I usually tell that that I am not in a pyramid scheme but network marketing. I let them know that there are pyramid schemes but not network marketing. We must learn the difference in pyramid schemes vs network marketing and learn how to give this information to the people we talk to.

When you offer something of value that can not be misunderstood as a pyramid. When you give them the facts and allow them to do the research on the products, that is not a pyramid.
When you show them the results of your efforts and they can benefit on this product as well, then, that is not a pyramid.
You are helping others when they change their lives for the better. They can also help others to do the same and enlightened someone else's lives as well. You benefit from your efforts. And you can see your efforts when they can help others to do the same.
You can disspel any objections when people are given all the facts and information to make a good informed decision. They can join you and make a change for themselves or keep asking the same questions and getting the same answers because they may not be ready for a life changing event!
The event of changing your life by helping others change their lives for the better. :idea:

You are right on. This is exactly what I say when I get that question and it works great. I also agree with Anne when she mentions that the whole world is like a pyramid. I guess it all depends on how big or small a person's perception is of reality. This is a wake up call, wouldn't you say?

Hi Darren, yes that video does a great job at explaining NM and a pyramid scheme in a funny way. Thanks for sharing :lol:

I find that if you have a REAL Business and a REAL product, there is no way it can be called a Pyramid as long as your comp plan is linear or is paid member to member! A Pyramid is exactly what a corporate business model is anyway. The people at the bottom do all the hard work and get paid peanuts, and the FAT CATS at the top do the 3 hour "power lunches" and make the BIG BUCK BONUSES. I think some people think that anything to do with the internet is a Pyramid. But...that's ok. Hey...if they want to continue thinking that way...let them. It's not going to stop me from ending up making more money per month than some CEO's take 40 years to attain. I just laugh it off and move on.
