Hi Darren,

Great video, thanks for sharing it! Todd Falcone ALWAYS makes a great point.

To tell you the truth, I have had mixed feelings about this subject before. I had put my eggs all in one basket before and the basket broke leaving me with a mess. Then I divided them up and still ended up with a mess because I lost focus.

There is only ONE way ... like Todd says ... YOU have to be the basket. And you have to keep your FOCUS.

"Follow One Course Until Successful."

I learned my lesson.

Again, thanks for sharing this!

Have a nice day!

I absolutely agree on focusing on just ONE opportunity at a time. It appears hard because there are so many different opportunities available out there but it's not very smart taking up a bunch of different tasks. I think the best thing to do is familiarize yourself with ONE first and become an expert and then in doing so, you could put the same tools and strategies that worked for you to implement in upcoming opportunities. :)

Hi Darren,

Looks like your video has disappeared, but I agree that it's the best strategy to promote just one company or opportunity.

I've tried it both ways, but I lost my focus. It becomes a question of divided loyalties. Which gets your prime time, attention and resources. When I began to look at the top earners, I found people who were not just totally focused, but passionate as well on their one business.

To your success,
Deborah

When I look at the top earners not one of them has only one income stream. They know they are simply paid sales reps for any network marketing company and someone else is calling the shots. So I think they've got the answer. Don't rely on one thing, owned by someone else, for your residual income.

Just makes sense to me. Any sales rep can lose his/her position at any time. Fact of life.

It may be good advice to stick with one company until you see good results. I like developing my skills in one area at a time. I do grow in experience and working with good people developing that skill. That becomes a good base to start with.
Every now and then another opportunity may come along. You would have to check the information out for yourself. As long as the new opportunity does not conflict with what you are working with everybody can stay on track.
I like doing what I started to do. That will probably never change.
Another opportunity came to me in a complete other direction. I would have to train and learn a new skill.
Successful people do have more than one stream of income.
If one market fails or lacks further income development, then there are others to take up the slack that will keep your training continuing. You can learn more about yourself and your abilities in developing more than just one skill.

Yes - otherwise you will loose valuable time that you could reach new skies.
This advice is good only with good opportunity.
Still you can combine use of other things you did before but you have to have only one main opportunity to work on.
For example.. I work with a company that sell health products.
When a new IBO is enrolling - I suggest to open a personal website.
The domain that the new IBO buys is related to another opportunity I was working on in the past.
So it can complete what you do today but not replace.

Absolutely stick with one company, but make sure that ONE company is the right one for your. If it's not, get the hell outta there as fast as you can. If the company, the product & the leadership team don't 'speak' to you, make a change.
I don't think Darren was asking about having multiple streams of income, goes without saying. But there's a huge difference between having multiple streams of income and having multiple primary companies/opportunities to promote.
It was mentioned that successful 'leaders' promote multiple companies. Not in my experience. Successful online network marketers promote one thing & one thing only......themselves & the value that they have to offer!
Focus on YOU inc., stick with one primary company, but have multiple streams of income. Simples! ;-)

I'm on both sides of the fence with this subject. It really depends on the person.

I once heard a statement that went like this... "I've never met anyone that made it to the top of more than one compensation plan at the same time". It sounds pretty true. In fact, I believe working part time it will take most people a full year to master a single product and their business.

Notice I said "Master" it. That means one out of seven people buy your product of join your team.

But over time I have become good at selling both technology products (video email) and nutritional supplements. So, I manage two businesses and two teams. Can it be done...of course it can!

I may not make it to the top of the compensation plans but over time each of my businesses have grown into steady income and I have a great time with my different teams and companies.

So, it's really up to the person, their goals, and their abilities. If you want to make 60k to 70k a year you can manage two businesses fine. But you may not make it to the top of any comp plan. :D

Notice I repeat the short phrase, "over time".

Prove you can make it with one company! As I stated before, this usually takes most people a full year. If you can make it with one and you have trained your team to duplicate then take the next step and venture into another product sector or another compensation structure. I work a binary plan and an unlimited wide – 8 deep matrix comp plan.

The ability to grow two teams can really only happen in this day and age. To make something like this happen you must have incredible reach, the kind of reach that only Internet Marketing can provide. So, your ability to market on the internet is a must!

Anything can be accomplished over time, working with two companies in a 3 year period is totally doable. But the reality is most people don’t stay in the business long enough to become successful with one company.

I believe one MLM at a time. If you are looking into multiple income streams, diversify in different ways. It just makes logical sense. Network marketing done well is a business of relationships and passion. It's really hard to do that well with two different teams and in two different product cultures. So pick one and be the best! At the same time, if your time allow is expand your income streams in ways other ways if you want. Why not?
