Wow there is several posts in this!
#1 if you aren't having fun, you are not doing this right! The reason why I say that is, when we think of job, we think of drudgery. They think of something they hate! Well that attitude won't get you to the success you want. So change your have to's to want to's.
#2 I would say instead of saying treat it like a job, treat it like a passion! If you are passionate about something nothing can drag you away, if you are thinking job, nothing can drag you to it!
#3 But this is what you want discipline, that is another word that people think about in negative words. But what it is and has to be is a dedication and work ethic mixed with your passion. That creates the synergy you are going to need to stay with it for the time it takes to see success.
Hope that helps!

Re: What does it take to succeed?
Hi! You all!
Let's imagine for a moment the following scenario.
Was upon a time that a young very poor boy...started to dream about him to become the champion of mountain bike in his town first and national second...but since his father left him and his mother and sister...he needed to see after his whole family.
He did not quit his studies and in top of that he worked all nights, just to make ends meet.
Since his dream of him being mountain bike champion was so vivid...so real...that every day was as though he added a new layer to his visualization...he added so many layers that his dream was starting to become more real every days was closer and closer.
The time came when he was on summer vacations and he went to work a second job...that allowed him to save enough money to buy a great bargain at E-Bay...and a little while after he gather enough money to buy the shoes and the garments to be a real biker.
Once he got all the tools he needed...he wrote a battle plan which contained his complete blueprint to reach his goals on time and as planned.
One year later with sweat and tears he reached his State championship and one year later he was in the National arena and after three years of discipline and effort he reached his dream...
Now he live very well, and support his mother and help his sister to get her degree with the money he earn with commercials and with his coaching practice.
The process to get anything you can visualize for yourself is the same.
1**Visualize your Ideal Scene...so vivid that if you want a Mercedes Benz you smell the leather you see the color the model...you can even cut a brochure and place it in your fridge...imagine that each visualization is a layer...and the more layers you add the more real your dream become.
2**Develop a strategy...the battle plan... the blueprint to build your reality...and go for it.
If you want a yacht...a house...or more spiritual matters...no matter what you aim to...the process is the same.
Be well,
Roger Aburto
P.S. If you envision a 10.000 people in your downline... then you need to find out according to the current matrix system what it takes to build that kind of organization...and go bronze first and then Silver...and then Diamond...and then Triple diamond... and so forth...and when the company offer you to pays with shares you better run!

Re: What does it take to succeed?
Hi Lynda, good question. I was about to post a new topic, but I think I can add some insights to your topic.
Since 90-95% of the people involved in network marketing fail or quit or are "experts at faking it until they make it," I believe I can speak from the point of view of loyal observer for want of a better term.
I am going to start off with a person's ability to Create Curiosity about the company or business they are involved with. There are far too many people, especially in Internet Marketing, that believe they have to "televise their opportunity" to everybody. Whether that is harvesting phone numbers, email addresses or posting links to their companies in every forum post.
My second point is Caring. It really is true that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you CARE ABOUT THEM! How do you show that you care? You ask them lots of questions about THEM! Eventually they will get so tired of talking about themselves that they might even ask you what you do. Then and only then, should you share with them your opportunity or expertise. Remember my last post: Ask people questions until they "tell you what their pain is." Then provide them with a solution, but only if they ASK YOU. Some people are not looking for solutions, they just want to talk. Let them.
I am going to partially disagree with your statement about not treating your business like a job. You need to treat your business like a job from the point of "setting regular working hours" and not allowing any minor distractions to take you away from your job. Emergencies will come up, but not every day. Also, it helps to have an "accountability partner." Most people don't work very well on their own. They are used to reporting to a boss. Find someone that you trust that you can report to and hopefully they will feel comfortable enough reporting to you as well. If that person is "an up-line sponsor," they might be able to help you find better ways to build your business.
I should also add this one last thing. Give yourself a daily quota and a deadline to meet. It is in taking little daily steps on a consistent basis that you will ultimately help you to achieve your goals.

That's right! Never give up!
You might want to change your plans a little and find another route to meeting your goals. That's not giving up on anything, but changing your way of thinking.
