Good question Edison..

The people who succeed in network marketing are not in it for financial security. They are in it for FREEDOM. And they know that freedom is not going to come without some serious work. Work that at the beginning may look like it’s paying off absolutely nothing, but in the end….you are free.

Network Marketers are entrepreneurial in nature..no doubt about that but I guess if you are talking of an entrepreneur who is not a network marketer , even though they have the same mindset , motivation and desires , but they may not have attributes of a network marketer , like deep interest in people and relationships..and they might be skilled in other areas like finance , IT, etc...

Why should there be a difference? I consider myself an entrepreneur that does network marketing and affiliate marketing.

I like that Lynda well said, there doesn't have to be a difference, it's one mindset and that is the one of an entrepreneur who chooses to do network marketing

There seems to be a difference but they each reach the same goals.
The network marketer is in business to help others to achieve their goals. The networker profits when a person succeeds in their business and attains their goals.
The entrepreneur is in business to make money. He profits when he sells a product or service. The entrepreneur doesn't care how the product sells just as long as there is a profit to be made.
The networker is in business to help others achieve their goals in selling their products or services.

I would say there isn't much of a difference.

Network Marketer is just a title - a position. Just like CEO. Don't let the title define you. It's more of the broader mindset concept where the difference comes into play.

As a network marketer, you essentially run your own business. You need to think like an entrepreneur, not a distributor. If you think like a distributor, then that is thinking too much like you being an employee - working for a company - the company being your network marketing company). This is too narrow a mindset.

As soon as you see yourself as a leader, a business owner, a mentor to others, someone who wants build their own power team of awesome individuals all for the same, general overarching goal (financial freedom and freedom in life), then you no longer see yourself as a 'lowly' network marketer or distributor.

You see yourself building your own mini organization within a company and impacting many lives positively along the way.
