How many hours do you work your MLM

Postby Chris Brown on Mon Mar 12, 2012 6:56 pm

Many of you are familiar with Tim Ferris's book the 4 hour work. Many people when they join MLM have the idea of freedom but I have seen in many cases people trade a 40 hr a week job for a 40 hour a week business.

There are certain things that people do to have 4 hour MLM work week and thing people do to have 80 hour MLM businesses.

I know a guy who had a job working 40 hours he is now a full time MLMers and workes at least 80 going to meeting, ect...

Are you implying that anyone starting a business doesn't put in a massive amounts of hours initially?

I don't know a successful business owner who doesn't.

Even the "Gurus" work a lot of hours. Not many of them sit on some beach with their laptop. Most have offices and employees.

I do agree on one thing, the 4 hour week lifestyle just isn't going to happen. Most business owners work longer and harder than 40 hour employees. They also get a much bigger reward and early retirement can actually be achieved.

if you are building your business online, lot of your money money activities like lead generation and conversion can be on auto-pilot saving you work hours..but then again you have to supplement it with building it offline and that usually takes up hours..

However , I truly believe it is how smart you work , rather how hard you work..

Just my 2 cents..

About 3 hours over the course of a week....mostly answering questions and processing orders. Sometimes I'll work an 5 hour day if I'm doing a major project

You can work on your business less than 4 hours a day. The reason why a lot of networkers feel burnout and exhausted and frustrated is because they don`t know what is the difference between activity and productivity.

When you are working in your business, you should focus 90% of your time prospecting. I learned this from my uplines and mentors jerry chen and tom challan.

We only get paid in doing this two things --- >1. Signing a new rep 2. Selling our Products

So just focus on talking to your leads because it is the most productive things that you can do.

There is no magic formula of what amount of time it takes to work a successful MLM business. There is always the old adage of you get what you put into it.
The whole point of starting in MLM is to work for yourself and not for some one else!
If you make more with your MLM than you do with your real job...then you are working it enough!
I know most people will tell you they would rather work 90 hours a week for themselves to get all the money than 90 hours a week for a J.O.B. and the company to get all the money.
You get paid to recruit, sell and train your team, I would work as long as it takes to become financially free no matter the cost!

Hi,

Just wondering if its more about consistency rather than the
quantity - number of hours.

To stay on the pulse working Monday having Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday off and
then picking things up again on Friday will that work?

Where's the momentum in doing something like that?

To me the big take away from Tim Ferris was not only work 4 hours a week. In fact, Mixergy.com had an interview with him where he was spending a ton of time promoting his book to several bloggers. What I took from the book was, learn to leverage you time. Notice I didn't say manage your time. Huge difference. He showed places where you can get assistants from overseas for pennies on the dollar.

Here is one thing to think about, when you are out with friends, family, etc. opportunities present themselves. With the way I structure my week, I am able to build my business with out having to spend time DIRECTLY building it. When I am training my fitness clients/athletes do am I actively working on my business? I guess that comes down to semantics.

Sorry I didn't write this but you said it right there. Its very easy to increase your staff by outsourcing outside the US which is what I do for a couple of my projects. In addition, my website are automated to do a number of tasks at a certain time without my input whatsoever.

Its not how much you work...its how SMART you work which is why I only work so little. I also don't try so hard at it...you don't need to turn yourself into some super duper marketing machine...just show the product, close the sale, and move to the next person. People don't need to be dazzled into your business....they just want the information needed to make a well informed decision
