Personal development !

You must believe in yourself, your team, your company, your products but it's only half the answer.

The other half is the plan to introduce your products and company to people.

Belief + Plan = Results !

Belief by itself produces ?

I believe if you have the plan, the belief will build as the money rolls in.

Therefore the plan is the most important 1/2 of the equation.

What do you think?

Agreed.

Belief = what you have (your products, your team);
Plan = what to do to achieve your goal.

The success is composed of your quality products and your insightful plan.

Hi Joyce

As you know my first ever MLM mentor was Dale Calvert, I always mention Dale because I attribute my sticking around the MLM industry and fighting through the challenges of entrepreneurship to him.

In the MLM company I was in with Dale, back in 1995, he was the top distributor and marketing trainer for the company.

I was greatly impacted by Dales early beginning on his journey to entrepreneurship. It was of someone really down on life and their career.

In that company we had a tape of the month club, highlighting books and motivational material for personal development, which Dale is big on, even to this day.

Anyway I remember one of the first training tapes new distributors were exposed to in that company was called "until you know why, the how doesn't matter."

Personal development is very important, but you also have to have a plan and take action on the plan.

That is why I have a problem personally with the "The Secret."

From what I have heard about it, it can lead you to believe that all you've got to do is believe with all your heart on something you want and walla, it just magically appears.

Nope you also need a plan and then to act upon that plan.

When you have a strong enough why/reason, which personal development can help you with, it seems that the how to, or plan, begins to manifest itself. ;)

I hear you Willie. And that plan MUST include your network marketing opportunity/products. Sitting around wishing, or feeling good about yourself gets you nowhere as far as putting money in your pocket. The PLAN to sell products has to be in place.
Dale Calvert is awesome by the way. I've took some training from him and like his down to earth approach. Warm market is NOT dead, we just think it is because we're afraid.

I think it is more than half.

If you do the actions, even without belief, you will succeed.

It is the action that generates the income.

Many people have sold products they don't believe in.

It makes it easier and more fun if you believe in them, but it isn't necessary.

(FYI: I love my company's products. I use them every day)

Action is absolutely essential, no doubt. You can't sit in a corner and conger up income. You must DO something.

AND

You MUST believe... You MUST believe in yourself! If you don't believe in your product you can still make sales... if you believe in yourself. If you don't believe in your company you can still make sales... if you believe in yourself. You can't be a leader if you don't believe in yourself. If you don't believe in yourself you'll never talk to anyone or pick up the phone or compose an email.

It takes both. Belief in yourself and have a solid plan of action. Oh, yes, mix in a bit of persistence and a dash of luck and you should have a cake.

BELIEF is the key... If you think you can sale something you don't believe in you may be right to a degree. For example if I work as a telemarketer and I am selling something I don't believe in, I will make some sales because that is my job and I have to make the calls or I will lose my crappy job. I do not believe in one minute that someone that gets into our industry and does not believe in what they are selling will sale anything. They will not because this is a at will business. They will take no action. It is hard enough for people to get enough courage to talk to someone when they do believe in what they are selling.

To Me it goes like this:
Your Belief = the Action you take. the Action you take = the Results you get. Then the Results you get will reinforce the Belief you had to began with. This will happen every time.

I see most miss step one Joyce. "Market Research", i.e how much market penetration and how saturated is a specific industry (Network Marketing) in a specific category, say supplements, autoresponders, website hosting, non-food items with millions of Distributors selling the same products for the same prices competing for the same small pool of new blood for example. This doesn't include all the NON-MLM Co's competing for the same business too.
