Nobody else lives in the paradigm of your life. Nobody else has the experiences, the goals and desires, the drive, the ambition, the skill sets you own.

You are completely and absolutely unique.

Can you learn additional skill sets? Of course, but they are going to be shaded by your past experiences.

You will assume based on your own experiences. Nobody else has those experiences.

In sales, you have to leave yourself behind. You have to leave your experiences and your knowledge on the back burner as you listen, ask questions and listen some more.

Until you understand the paradigm of the prospect.

Then you have the opening to offer a solution and not before.

Don't be the self-centered, plaid clad, pushy, used car salesman.

Be the professional that learns to listen to what your prospect really needs before you offer then another tool or system that's going to line your pocket and doesn't really solve their core issues.

Thats exactly right...
The idea of duplication in network marketing has been grossly misinterpreted in my opinion.

No one can duplicate me.
And I dont expect them to.

What we can do is provide a blueprint.
We can provide a toolset.
We can provide a library and learning experience.

But at the end of the day, each and every one of us has a unique experience
and the unique challenge to go out and build it, individually.

Team work, networking, organizational efficiency and "duplication" all play a part.
But everyone has to get it started. We all start at start.

What isn't duplicatable is the unique character we each bring to the table.
Our unique level of ambition, drive, creativity, work ethic, stubbornness, dedication,
commitment and all out passion to live an exhilarating life that we design and control.
None of that can be duplicated and is a unique experience every single time.

But that's the beauty of a team and this business...
You take all of those unique qualities and form a bond, a culture and
a movement that is unstoppable in its uniqueness.

Joyce,

Its funny, I just wrote a small blog post exactly about this. But more importantly... if anyone were to take a look around at the leaders who surround this forum and this community, most if not ALL have created their own systems.

And it works...

But who you are today has been forged by what you conquered yesterday.

And since no-one has traveled in your foot steps, no-one can be exactly like you.

What people fail to realize is that its those unique experiences that give you the power and leadership capabilities that others are looking for.

If it wasn't for the personal failure, humility and growth and also recognizing it... I don't know where i'd be today.

Thanks for inspiring Joyce!

I resemble that remark and that hurts... :)

I say don't be a pushy network marketer trying to push your business on me at party where we just met...
All the while telling me how great the company is and how great the product is and how easy it is to make money and on and on and on... I am not listening to you... I can not wait to get away from you.

Duplicatable or not Duplicatable? Is it even a word?

We are duplicatable, we are not clones. We are unique as every one here. What is duplicatable is our techniques and skills in delivering the goods again and again. Others can take that technique or skill and duplicate it into their own and learn from it. Then they can make it their own and profit from it.
What would the world do with another "me" around to do twice the damage and mistakes and etc...
But we can learn from others to be our own selves and be unique! :lol:

At the risk of sounding pedantic,
the correct spelling of the word is duplicable

Really :)

What cracks me up is someone who thinks they
have a system that others can copy (see the slick
way I avoided the "D" word?) when they're telling
the hapless noob that they should build a blog,
capture pages, autoresponders, etc.

Strangely enough, these same people will claim
that it's infinitely more difficult (if possible at
all) to teach the noob how to use a phone more
effectively through the use of scripts, training on
how to conduct a phone interview and role-playing.

Now just think about that for a moment.

Would it be harder to teach someone only one tech
thing - how to build a blog for instance, or one
offline thing - how to be more influential on the
phone?

The Internet countryside is littered with the bodies
of would-be attraction marketers who might have
made it to the next town on the trail to network
marketing success if only they'd bought and called
some leads.

Haha Dave, you've been pluggin your opp all day, so now it's my turn : ).

That's why I promote internet income university. We actually build a wordpress blog for every one that joins. Every one that joins also get their very own lead capture pages with built in affiliate streams, upsells, and visalus.

So, to answer your question, I think it's easier to have someone join IIU (for free by the way) and get traffic to the blog that we build them (which they can do for free btw), than it is to teach someone phone skills (actually anyone can learn phone skills, it's more difficult to teach someone how to not have fear of the phone)

This is a very important discussion.

A quick story

When I first got started in network marketing I was in a group that advocated paid-leads,(and very expensive ones at that). The only way to talk to them was this really awful script which was designed to move them quickly to the sale.

There were no places where we asked questions rather it was all of what you said pushy and it didn't work for anyone except for the most hard-shelled salesman.

In fact it trained that if they did interrupt with a question we would say "That will be covered in the presentation" "that will be covered in the training" Of course they were frustrated and so was I.

I did it for a while and it taught me that I had to find a way to really get into that person's head, and of course then I found all of the other things like Tim Sales, and the list goes on and on.

Point being even when they hand you a script, if it does not teach to get into your prospect, what they want, what their problems are that you need to help them solve, then its game over.
