Is that the sense that you're getting?
Is that the goal you're striving for?
What if you're not a great writer in comparison to the other gurus? Or can't do a video if you're life depends on it?
What then?
Do you have to be a guru before you can be successful in your network marketing company?

I don't believe you have to be a guru first, but I do believe that you will become a guru as a byproduct of becoming successful with your MLM Company.

I don't believe that you have to be a guru to be successful in the network marketing business.
You do have to have a passion and drive to continue to do what you really want to do. You have a defined 'why'' in helping others to achieve their goals. You still have to be very knowledgeable about the products as well as other avenues along side what you are doing. Being ready to compare and discuss the benefits and health results of your product over others in a discussion.
McDonald's did it very well. They are not the best on the market, but they are the best marketed product worldwide.
If you do all of this to be successful then you are a guru. So be it! You are a Guru in training.

Re: Do you have to become a guru to be successful?
What exactly do you mean by 'guru'? I think it's actually a very relative term.
For me, in affiliate marketing terms, a 'guru' is basically the vendor of the product or system, while everyone else is affiliates promoting the 'guru's' secret formula or whatever.
So in that sense, no I don't believe you need to become a 'guru' to become successful - just be a really great affiliate. However, being the vendor of a highly converting product will make you even more successful and much more of a 'guru'.
But as Chuck said, you do become a 'guru' eventually as a byproduct of your journey of mastery. At this point though, you probably can become a vendor of your own product/system/course/etc. that adds so much value and affiliates will want to promote.

Success in network marketing consists of 4 simple steps:
Greet
Qualify
Close to Action
Follow Up - Follow Through
How long would it take to become successful if we didn't have to be an expert at anything?

Hello Joyce,
If by "guru" you mean a high profile leader who markets training products, membership sites, etc. then my answer is no.
Some of the most successful network marketing leaders I've met are very low key and work mostly with and within their own organizations.

Re: Do you have to become a guru to be successful?
The interviews that I am conducting in this industry is demonstrating to me that no you do not have to become a famous guru to experience success.
Besides Success is relative. Someone making 4 grand a month and is able to leave their full time job would feel very successful.
I always say don't try to strive for what someone else is accomplishing because you have no idea what their life is like. It might be one you hate.
