Craziest thing you have done.

Postby Erika Samperio Solares on Sun Jun 24, 2012 2:59 am

What is the craziest thing you have done in trying to build your business since you have been in the network marketing industry.

Mine is when I used to put yard signs by myself at night I will park, wait for almost no cars to pass by (which will take forever!) get closer to the ideal place where high traffic will go through (walking with my huge sign), make it seem like if I was walking normal trying to look like if I wasn't doing something illegal and run back to my car and put my sign up.

Can't wait for your guys post! ;)

The craziest thing I think I have ever done is give away my products. At a great cost to me to give away samples to everyone I knew. Back then, I did not know what to do or how to promote a product. So I did the next best thing in giving the products away in hopes of catching some interests and they would buy more for themselves. After a year of doing this, zero results. That program drew some interests only if I was still giving products for free.
From now on, I only give all the information free to everyone. The products are on the reader to purchase for themselves. They would have all the facts and know all the benefits. They would have to see for themselves the results.

The next craziest thing I have done is to buy into a lot of marketing systems. If it sounds like a good deal with time and experience it is worth a try.
My latest venture is buying into a program. I know it takes time to build on this. Now the company wants me to go to the second phase and utilize a company to do the work for me. Naturally at a much more greater cost. It sounds simple, easier and worth the costs to hire someone to do all the grunt work because of their experience and I would get the benefits of their efforts. You can't beat the efforts of one person working versus a company of experienced sales personnel working 24 hours on your behalf. It sounds very inviting, so did the many other marketing opportunities that came along as well.
Going back to the basics of meeting people and building a business on relationships still seems to work best!

Hi,

I did the same thing. I buy into a lot of marketing systems. Always changing for the next best thing. Just to finally, realize that it was the same thing that the previous one. I need to change me, not the MLM company.

I just go to the post or telephone poll or where ever I want to put my sign and just do it. I usually post signs on the weekends and in very juicy high traffic areas just off the main streets usually (because signs place in these areas stay up much longer - say a month or more) and that is that, no biggy fries. I get a lot of inbound calls this way, because good old fashion signs work and will always work. I see ambulance chaser, and divorce lawyers and even real estate agents posting signs the same way, and they wouldn't keep doing it if they didn't work. Of course, in Los Angeles, if you can't get calls from your signs you are definitely doing something wrong. ;)

Erika, you won't believe this, but a few years ago I had a delivery route and since I was always busy, I did not have much time to talk with people.

So instead I went to a site and made me up some tee shirts and a couple of marketing hats that simply said, Be Your Own Boss Ask Me How?

One day while out working, a gentleman asked me, How Can I be My Own Boss?

I started laughing and left the store with out giving him any info or getting his info.

It was not until I had driven off a few miles that I realized what had happened.

I forgot I had my marketing hat on at the time.

I bet that guy thought I was a nut.

The newest craziest thing that I am doing is filing out surveys. It's interesting and involving opinions that you make every day. I have matched the money I made so far with networking. There is no soliciting, posting or downline to get started. Just fill out surveys as they are posted on your website.
It beats dodoling and playing games and visiting facebook all day.

There is this fan page on facebook that is shown in a lot of ads about a program of "experienced" sales people marketing and calling your leads. I don't think that works, there is nothing better than you actually picking the phone up and connecting with your leads.

You got that right! Anyone can succeed in any company, is the person that has to work.
