What matters is how much your team is making. Are your team members making or exceeding what you are making? Isn't that the sign of a "true" leader?

to my understanding its the networkers that take the business and run with it that makes the money but if given the right internet systems and information anyone can be a super star

I think it depends on how the business is set up. There are companies where people earn even if they barely do anything at all. Imagine a person several tiers below you find 1 superstar. In this scenario, they can earn a tremendous income...but again, it really depends on the structure.

One of the things that attracted me to the industry is the self development end. In the example that I just mentioned, there wasn't much self development. So you can't just measure leadership success from earnings alone IMHO.
