Who is your warm market? (It’s not friends & family)

Postby Chris Brown on Wed Jul 25, 2012 9:53 am

Traditional MLM teaches that you approach your friends and family. But who really is your warm market. We are taught to go find people better than us but most people will not do that. They will only approach people they feel comfortable with so they only talk to their close friends.

Reports show the average person only has 10 close friends they will feel comfortable in talk with. THIS IS NOT YOUR WARM MARKET.

Have you ever meet someone you had something in common with and it felt like you meet a friend who you have not seen in years. That is you warm market people with common interest.

Mark Yarnell bought a list of Paraglider from SRDS since he was a paraglider he did not talk to them about paragliding and direct to conversation where he could bring up network marketing this is your warm market.

Have any of you tried this?

In my experience, most folks tend to define a Warm Market as those with whom you already have a personal connection in some way, so this would include friends & family.

I agree with Mark Yarnell's approach of connecting with a group of people with whom you already have a common interest. It makes developing rapport and a subsequent relationship much more likely. But I wouldn't consider them to be a part of the Warm Market until you've already established rapport with them. Having said that, it's really just a matter of semantics & I'd rather be building a team.

...my two cents.

Dale Horton

Yes I agree, your warm market is the common ground interest you have with a person or group of people. For example yesterday I went to have some beauty work done at a Beauticians.
The owner was introducing a new treatment in her salon and was promoting it, to her warm market her customers where she already has a relationship so there was common ground.
Kind Regards,
Jayne. :)

Your warm market is everybody you meet. Most of the time you both are into the same direction, but not necessarily.
You will meet people in all walks of life and if you can enrich their lives by inviting them into yours and building good relationships, you would say that you would have a good warm market.
I like riding motorcycles and I meet people who rides other styles of motorcycles than I have. We have a common ground. Let them talk about their styles and riding destinations. Build a relationship with that builds your warm market.

.

Warm Market by definition is someone you have some sort of direct or indirect connection with.

Network marketing and mlm, as descriptions, really haven't sat well with me for years.

My all time favorite description of what we do in the direct sales industry is "referral marketing."
Or as one of my mentors, Wayne Hillman calls it, Love Sharing.

When you look at the mechanics and intent behind the defined parameters of referral marketing,
you get a much more accurate depiction of "how it should be done."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referral_marketing

I firmly believe if more rookies were taught this philosophy and approach they would have
a much better experience in their early years in business.

It's an organic, low impact, non invasive process ... almost covert.

When implemented correctly your "warm market" is constantly expanding, like a living organism.
As you feed it, nurture it, cultivate it, it grows, organically.

My warm market was really small when i began in network marketing, but i learned to talk to people and build relationships and now my warm market has grown to a huge number!! I want to share how I did that so I wrote this blog post to try to help anyone out who has trouble with getting a bigger warm market.

My warm market is everybody whom I meet. I do travel a lot and meeting people all the time. I like talking to different people and that's in and out of my target market. Who knows! The very people who come to me are the very ones whom I have never met!
Your warm market are the people you meet daily and your lives cross somewhere in the middle. Getting to know people enhances your speaking experiences more than you can express online.
Giving a personal business presentation to a captive audience is overwhelming and exhilarating to excite someone's ideas and really being able to help someone to achieve their goals.
Your family and friends know you and heard it all. They may become immune to your presence. Talking to new faces brings new light to a conversation and enlightened someone's thoughts to improve their situation in life.
Meet your new warm market!
