Re: Do you attend events to increase your income..
Absolutely so, in fact there is a real void in my area of networking events where people can really tap into the crooks of what's working really well for people in their businesses and share experiences.
There is also an area that remains largely untapped and that is helping people who are looking to make a leap of faith into doing something different or who may be just starting out again ( like yummy mummy's) to pardon the expression.
I have been to 2 networking events recently and this is what I found:
1. Most of the 1hr 30 mins was spent eating a full cooked breakfast and the faff that went with it!
The remaining minutes were spent exchanging business cards which you then have the opportunity of handing out to people who you may come into contact with in the next fortnight between meetings. There was a bit of a ra ra ra ceremony where people got a pat on the back for handing out some cards issued at the previous event!
When I looked at my cards later there was a plumber who liked to dress as a fairy wear a tiara and drive a sparkly van...I thought how bizarre and a Sales Director from a hotel chain.....I was quite astounded at the varied types of people present. So I drew the conclusion that the Networking company were more interested in bums on seats than the quality of the meeting.
What was the nugget I took away from the meeting? the look on my boyfriends face the next time we have a need for a plumber!
2. The second Networking event was spent with the Chair person spending the entire time (between munching on a croissant and slurping coffee) talking about herself. What was the nugget I took away? well there was certainly a niche in this market that required filling!
So I set about excitedly together with my friend and drew up a business plan to operate our own networking event, geared up to helping not only people who are already in business but those who are looking to leap into something new, we are offering training courses in PD to give people a platform of which to leap off ( if that makes sense!) and then of course the networking events to assist them in building their businesses. We will not be offering big breakfasts, nor will we be engaging in any boring speeches about ourselves!
People will go away with tons of stuff they can apply to their businesses and themselves and come back for more!
We are due to go live this Autumn, can't wait!
Kind Regards,
Jayne x

Re: Do you attend events to increase your income..
Absolutely!!!
I have come to find that you need to go to events where the leaders are at... and surprisingly leads go to events!
My first event outside of my MLM was an event called Live the Dream. I had NO IDEA what I was in for. I walked into a room where I knew of two or the 10 speakers but that was it. I had no idea the mind change that I would experience or the quality of people I would meet. This one event changed my outlook on building my business. I look forward to stepping onto that stage and sharing this story.
My next event was just this past weekend at the Pro Marketing Summit.
If Live the Dream told me I could build my business, Pro Marketing showed me how. I got to sit down and talk to 7 and 8 figure income earners. I got them to answer my questions and help me figure out what I needed to do to build my business.
I was struggling with some very basic issues, am I product driven or business driven? Do I want to attract more leads and who am I targeting? They asked me some point blank questions and I had to take a hard look at where I wanted to be in 3 months.
I am already geared up to be at the Live the Dream III event because I want to surround myself with like minded people. People who "get it" and are driving their business forward.
So do attending events increase your income?...NO.
Does change your mindset? Yes!

Re: Do you attend events to increase your income..
I have been to several seminars and large events over the years and gained a lot of experience. The best experience was to change my mindset. Being in the presence of a lot more experienced people who literally written the book and teaching it in these classes far outweigh the cost of attending.
Attending these events is almost like going to church. You are enthralled, enlightened, have love for your fellow man, in tone with one another. Life is so beautiful, until you get to the parking lot!
It is an educational experience to attend just one of these events. The experience and training will increase your income.

Interesting responses so far....
No doubt attending events not only raises your profile as a leader but also you gain valuable knowledge and skill set and above all , great friendships..
Will be interested to hear other people's views...
