Do you agree with FB cracking down?

Postby Joyce Penner on Thu Aug 16, 2012 10:44 am

It IS a social networking site.

For socializing, networking with other people, meeting others.

Would you like to see the "look at how much money I made last night" disappear .... the "lose weight with me" pictures and what are you going to do when Facebook completely eliminates that from our walls?

What's the alternative?

Hi Joyce,

It's long over due, just as the Google Panda and such, FB will probably not be to far behind with their own Panda or some other animal with all the spammy content poted on peoples walls.

It is turning into a commerical fest and getting some what ridiculous with all the spammy post.

I am always having to delete post from my FB feed.

Guess folk forgot that there is an about me section on your FB page to use for your blog and other promotions or esle run an freakin ad and set up a fan page.

Oh well guess it is an opportunity for those who know how to actually give valuable content first.

I'm already considering other options to run my promotions at.

Yes - totally agree. The spam is too much and this is not how you build a business or relationships. In most cases the people that respond to that spam are going to be jumpers and to me that is a waste of time anyway.

As for alternative, building a relationship with people and using social media the way it was meant to be used originally and then sharing is the answer. That is what I do now unless it is specifically one of the fan pages that I have for a specific business or niche.

Everybody seems to hate spams, which is true.
But on the business side, the spams pays for the site. Just to look at an advertisement posted on the website the advertisers are helping to pay for the site.
Just like the television commercials you see. Someone is paying for those ads that pays for you viewing your favorite show or program.
Your favorite program and movie are being hosted by a gutter or awning company. Without these advertisers we would be looking at paying for joining a social network site. Just think how far that thought would go.
