But what does it actually mean?

Bluntly, in the online world, don't write or talk about your successful journey in MLM when the results you refer to are from an affiliate tool.

That is a confusing message and one my mom would say "Is talking out of both sides of your mouth."

If you're an affiliate marketer, creating your income from selling tools and training - GREAT !

If you're in network marketing the leads you generate is only the marketing aspect of your MLM and, you've probably noticed already, doesn't mean a successful MLM business.

Keep your message clear and focused. Affiliate marketing - here's the tools I sell. Network Marketing - here's where I go and this is what I do to find people who are interested in my opp.

The opp is the primary focus not the tools to market more tools.

You're right Joyce, we have to be careful not to embellish our story with someone else's and make sure we are being truthful about all aspects of our business.

Thanks Joyce! That was an interesting storyline.
I give information freely. I try to make everything available to viewers. Further into each site you want to get involved and buy. Don't sell at the information level. Most try to do just that. Sell the information and then get you to buy the product or service. That is not a good way to keep your customers.
"McDonald's" would sell you on the 'dollar menu' just to get you in the door. It worked for that company but not for an MLM business.
Let your viewers know what you are doing and promoting. If they wish to get involved, they are offered to buy with confidence and trust who they are buying from.
