Re: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
Hello Richard, been missing your input.
I had never heard about BN until mid 2010 while on a call with John Breck of I Buzz Pro. He made mention of Better Networker and make the case of why Network Marketer's may want to be here.
Better Networker to me means be able learn from other marketer's and to communicate my story of my journey along this road of being an entrepreneur. Sharing or trying to share my struggles and dissapointments as well as my success on my journey.
It can get quite lonely out there and it is nice to have a place to come and get a word of encouragement or even a kick in the back side, saying stop whining
and pick yourself back up and move forward or get the heck out of the game.
What I hope to achieve is becoming a leader in which I can help others along this entrepreneurial journey to realize and become all that they dare to become in their life and not to place limits upon themselves.
When I first came here I really was not sure just what the heck I was looking for, but after being on the site and participating I have gained a lot of respect for Mike Dilliard.
Also, I first heard about MLSP and Johnathan Budd over here, as well as Racheal Jackson and Katie Freling just to mention a few.
What I hope to contribute again is to help others become at what they are doing better by sharing my successes, my let downs any tools or things that can help one be better at building their business.
And also to help make others aware of the not so good intentions of others in this marketing and NWM eviroment out to hurt and scam.
Sometimes we might be on the brink off quitting this NWM game and we can come here and get a word of encouragement from others who have been down the same road, yet they survived and finally succeeded.

Re: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
And there were crickets.... Chirp! Chirp!
Thanks Willie for stepping up with a reply. And thank you Richard for posing the question.
In the four years that BetterNetworker has been in existence 153,059 people have come to the site and created a profile.
At this very minute there are 1,430,000 pages from BetterNetworker indexed in Google.
I monitor our daily traffic which ranges from 4,000 to 10,000 visitors every single day.
Which leads me to wonder...
Do BetterNetworker Members really not know why they are here? Is that the reason for a lack of response?
Or is it that people simply get comfortable sitting on the side lines loitering and not contributing.
This is a community of your peers, and a place where leaders like BetterNetworker Instructor Richard Bravo are investing their time to empower you.
Have you already arrived where you want to be with your home business? If so, then perhaps its a good time to reach out to others and share what you've learned along the way.
If however... you are still trying to find your way. Let your journey forward begin right here, right now, by YOU stepping up and engaging others right here in this forum.
If you are not here to be an active part of the community then I too have got to ask you the same question...

That's an interesting question?
Learn, share, question, to be part of a community, give my opinion, learn other peoples opinions, help.
That's pretty much why I come here.
I first joined this site when it started and can remember the interaction. Lots of people talking and friending each other. Lots of new blog post and forum post. It was fun for a while. Then came the not so fun forum post and constantly being spammed with messages to buy something so I left. It seems lots of others did also. Unfortunately I forgot those log-in details so I had to come back new.
When I came back I was hoping it would be a little more active but BN had/has a steady flow of the same people posting, some times 3-4 a new threads a day, and you can't blame them because no one else is/was. Unfortunately having the same input with little interaction is a little rough to take. So I try to mix it up a little by posing questions and such hoping some of those in the background will jump in. And they have been doing that to some extent. The more who reply to aany thread means the more we can each learn.
One of the things I'm not here to do is try to advertise and sell my stuff or build my list or show my super duper marketing intelligence. Might have a hard time doing that anyway because it might be lacking just a little.
What I am here for is community. When I think of BN I think of community, a community of like minded people sharing their thoughts and experience. I like reading the UPS and DOWNS in peoples lives as they work their business. It shows they are real and above average. Average people don't share, they put on mask. I enjoy interaction in threads especially when opinions and ideas are different or even clash. I hate (really hate) when some one ask a question but doesn't give their answer to the question (Richard)
So, why am I here, this is a discussion board and I enjoy discussing.
Hope that makes a little sense.

Re: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
.
Good to see you Willie, glad to be back!
Like you said Jesse, I've often wondered how many people just sort of
browse and view things from a distance. It's a bit of a mystery.
I know I'd like to see more responses...
There's so much that can be shared & learned collectively.
I genuinely would love to give people what they need rather than constantly
guessing what we share is on que with what they need.
I love to teach, so that's one of my first loves when it comes to BN and how I started here.
Of course building and expanding my business is on top as well...
we all want to make money, that's why they call it money.
Understanding people's needs at an intimate level the way we can achieve here is priceless on all levels for all of us.
Product ideas, content ideas, optimization ideas, insights for personal growth, empathy among common struggles, a sense of community and belonging, a chance to step out and shine, etc., etc.

Jessie. I too was one of those lurkers way back when. I read and followed threads with opposing opinions, researched the topic (idea) further, grew, solidified my path before I started commenting or contributing. So I understand to some extent the lurkers, non-commenters, as they absorb and learn.
I like to bring a bit of logic, honesty and integrity to BN to counteract the "make a million dollars in one day" hype that some marketers think wins the day. Help people think, if you will.
And I've met some awesome people on here !

Re: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
I'm here because I wanted an opportunity to learn and to share. To try to make a difference. Perhaps provide guidance, perspective, or insight to someone that may be lost. That's probably one of my main things, trying to help the lost ones. By lost I mean, those that reach that point where they become overwhelmed with the amount of information at their disposal that action paralysis kicks in. Or perhaps those that found themselves in their fancy new MLM and are trying to decide what their next step is. I think I'm more akin to those types because I've been there. Had those moments when I thought to myself, 'ok, what the heck am I really doing and can I even pull this off?'. Heh.. I'm pretty sure everyone else has felt that way too.
Bottom line... I'm here because I want to give. I just hope what I'm giving makes sense to someone else. HAH!

Re: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
When I first started out, I knew nothing about how to market anything. But I knew I wanted to learn how. Next I wanted to learn what. Of course, there is where. I came to the BN to do just that. It is always best to start at first and seek out the experts on the BN to learn. The only way to learn is to participate and contribute to this great forum. I can input what I've learned to teach others in the same position.
I am getting a better idea of how I want to conduct my online business and a better idea of how to run it.
"Why are you here" is a quick realization of being in business. Now that you are here, you will stay and be successful!
