I watched it and Mike has great ideas if you have your own webpage, but what about if you're not allowed to change a webpage (like with CCPro... they maintain the pages)? Does Mike cover how to split test Google ads for a webpage? I'd sure like to see something like that!

Good video, telling me stuff I already KNOW, but that I don't DO.
Ah well, all of life is progress...so I guess it's time to start. His point at the beginning that some of us (the split-testers) will be fat dumb and happy and others will be gone was a "yeah right" when he said it but I DO see that somebody paying $3 per lead has to drive out somebody paying $5 per lead over time PROVIDED $3 guy has the same or better total conversion rate.

Does anybody know if Google Analytics will let you split-test all pages from 'squeeze' (what Mike was talking about)to salesletter to order form to thank you to get total funnel conversion% up?

If not- a software tool to do this that works?

Your AdWords account set up will do split testing of Google ads. It's easy. One element at a time and Mike probably has good data on which elements have biggest impact.

My feedback:

No one can ever build a perfect website, so yes, split testing is really important.

Great video too.

I borrowed some ideas from the Building On A Budget Website. Now I use the Impact font too for the headline of some of my websites, (bright red color headlines. I use Georgia for main text.)

I've just began my first split test this year but I'll talk about the results in another post.

I agree Laura, I'm in the same boat. It seems everything I read is for people who have their own website that they can control. All I have is a company supported website that I'm not allowed to change so I would really like to have some help with promoting that. Nothing I've tried so far has worked and I know there are people out there making a fortune with it even online.

Dont ASSUME something will work without testing it.

Don't write an ad or try a method out without having something else to compare against. Always track your results. By scraping off cents from your cost consistently will ultimately result in huge profits.

Even if you are in profit when getting $5 leads, if you managed to reduce your cost per lead to $2.50 you've effectively doubled your profit. I think that video gives a brilliant demonstration of the concept. It's a great idea though i think a lot of people are going to feel disappointed that mike didnt tell them how to get something for nothing lol. People are always looking for an excuse to justify failure to act.

Have you considered trying Google AdWords? You still won't be able to do A/B testing with your landing page, but you can try out literally dozens of different ads that you write yourself. And Google is really not that expensive. I've uploaded a book for you to check out (if the upload works)

If it doesn't work PM me and I'll arrange to get you a copy.

Paul, can you share the Google ads bok with others? I'm having a heck of a time with Google. I blew a lot of money in the begininngin, then when I thought I was doing better, my leads are down to a few per day. Realistically I want 25-30 leads per day. I could use anu/all help. Also, I'm new to these forum things and was wondering how you got your signature to have the 4 links, with the description in grey? Looks good.

The ONLY AdWords book worth reading is The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords by Perry Marshall. He teaches you how not to waste money, get the clicks you want. I've read some other "books about adwords" that, if you do as they suggest, will get you slaughtered by adwords cost. Get the book. I'm not even making any money on the sale- you need the book. Google it and get it right from Perry's site.

i used spaces between the brackets so it would show up. you should remove the spaces.

Google Adwords, I definitely recommend Perry Marshall's Definitive Guide. You can actually get a hardcopy version of it with a ton of bonuses now at amazon.com or any bookstore for something like $20. Pretty cheap for such an important book. It's basically the BIBLE of google adwords advertising. Anyone who doesnt own it or has never read it LOSES money on google.

Ever wonder why so many adwords ads show up on the 10th and 100th pages of results? Do you realise that when you have 100 pages of ads under one keyword you're looking at 9,980 adwords losers and there are only 10 people who kind of get it.

Or maybe they just fluked it to the front page for the day.

Yeah. Pretty shocking. If you're gonna do adwords, aim to become an expert (it's not that hard) but get the book.
