I got all excited about Craigslist this week. Started researching different software and posting methods: I tried one software that looked likely, and found that nothing ever showed posted. Hmm...
Then I bought an ebook that said for sure it would teach you how to get really-truly posted, and followed the directions. Took me about 6 hours to post to 65 different cities. This time I got all the emails, clicked on all the links, and was told my ads had posted. I could see them "here", and sure enough, there they were at the link I was given, so I went to bed happy, with dollar signs dancing in my head.
Next morning I rushed to my computer to see all the signups, and found not one. Turns out my ads aren't really showing.
So I tried backpage. Same thing there. I'm told my ad's been published, but it's not there. I'm assuming it may be because I have a foreign IP address?
Any thoughts on this? How can I get around this problem?

I have many adds running on "CraigsList". I did not use a program though. I did however write all the adds out in MS Office Word, then all I had to do was copy and paste to the list. It sounds like it was quicker that what you went through??
Good luck!

Actually, Larry, That's what I did, it just took long because it was my first time. The problem isn't the time, it's that I can't get even one ad to actually post!

Re:Craigslist Frustrations
Your posts are being ghosted. there are a few ways to fix this. One of them is to change your IP address every time you post an ad. This can be done with Dial up internet connection and Air cards. It is very difficult to do with high speed internet connections. The best way to actually do it is to find someone that does Craigslist posting services and they will post you ads for you for a small fee. Just do a couple of google searches on the subject.

We talk about this extensively in Building On A Budget...
There are few tricks you can use to ensure they aren't ghosted...
IP address is one... email is another... and making sure your subject line is 20% different as well as each ad is 20% different...
Thanks,
Justin

how do you post a business opportunity when they have rules against it?

The only problem for my girlfriend and I is everything we post is getting ghosted since we read this thread!
We had generated some traffic to a new capture page I had created for her, and were still in the process of "tweaking" it.
I will figure something out!

Re:Craigslist Frustrations
i read something about craigslist checking ip addresses now and that if you post multiple ads you either have to do it from different computors or have special software. There was a course I was going to get teaching about those things but the people who were selling ran 20 ads one day and then got flagged and weren't on there anymore. I may still look into it.

Re:Craigslist Frustrations
I have the same problem! When I try to post on craigslist I make sure to change the title and body by 20% and they still have a problem with me posting in different cities. I haven't tried it with another email address, but you would have to make a lot of them to do it in all the different cities. I have high speed, so I can't switch my IP. I haven't bought the software, that was my next step, but I don't know if I will spend the money on it now that I hear people are buying it and the ads still aren't showing up. Someone emailed me that they did posts for .49 cents each, but I read in BOAB that the key to getting results on Craigslist is to post multiple times each day, or at least once a day, in every major city. That would make this "free" advertising get expensive to pay someone to do that every day. I'm sure there is some way around this. Perhaps we can figure it out.
Re:Craigslist Frustrations
That WOULD be nice! In the meantime, I've found some offshore people who will do it for between .05 and.20 a post. The .20 people are in India, which I think sounds better than an Eastern bloc country, (Am I prejudiced? Perhaps, India Math is all the rage here in Japan right now.) and also, promises to check each post and repost if there is any ghosting as well as provide links to each post. Think I might try them.
