Hey friends, if you were told by your sponsor that they would help you get your business up and running and they don't what should you do?

If your upline sponsor quits and you are left alone what should you do?

I don't know if you feel like this sometimes, but I get sick of babysitting newbies.

I do my best to train my team and to make it clear to them that they take one step and I take one step. I'm going to work as hard as they do.

How do you deal with this problem? Especially, when told by someone that their upline has let them down?

I know what you mean...

Some people have the idea that when they join a business everything will
be done for them...which obviously isn't true.

As an up-line/mentor I provide as many tools as possible for my downline
to grow there business. It's up to them to use those tools and grow their
business.

There are always going to be those few who join you and do absolutely nothing...

I try not to waste my time with them.

In any networking business, get the full scoop before diving into it. There are a lot of good programs out there. But not everyone works the system. My first venture into MLM I signed up 10 people the first week. My sponsor had no clue what to do. Left me hanging... (but I still buy the laundry soap!)

I have learned that if you're in this for the long haul, LEARN YOUR BUSINESS, so you can be the mentor/sponsor to others. Find out who the leaders are in your business and contact them. Let them know who you are and what you're doing. They should support you in your endeavor. Most of these businesses are not difficult if you take the time to work it.

Remember, this is a PEOPLE business... not an automatic one. No successful business runs by itself.

And most of all:
Don't let the failure of others stand in the way of your success!

I think too many people put all their success on their upline. They live and die by their upline. They get too attached. They can't make a step without consulting their upline.

Some of this is the fault of the upline; they make their downline too dependent upon them for everything.

Clingy-ness and needy-ness are not the signs of someone who's going to do well in their own business.

You can only hold people's hands for so long, then the icky-ness (my word) of it kicks in and you have to let go.

Don't leave your success to your upline. Be a big boy or girl and take charge of your own business, your own destiny. That's what I say.

I just could not resist responding to this one!

I never ceases to amaze me how many people join my business and then SIT THERE doing absolutely nothing until I call them, drag them out to coffee, even probe them to see who in their circle of influence they should be talking to. THEN following up to see if they DID follow up. I've even written emails for them to send to their prospects.

NutS!? YES! Insanity!

Good news is that I don't do this anymore. Since I started applying the tips in the courses here as well as reading posts and watching videos posted, I have developed a "whole new attitude": If you are not willing to help yourself first, then so be it. My next step will be to "not sponsoring" these type of folks into the business to begin with!

So I'd say...train your downline from PRE-SIGN UP to take the lead. Even if the lead is to ask you what that next step should be!? At least they are asking!

Interesting subject.

There are different schools of thought on this subject. The faint at heart probably shouldn't read this post. Because, this is really how it is.

First, I am going to speak as an upline mentor and coach. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. As I saw in one of the replies to this post, we have to supply the tools and support necessary to help our partners build their business. That is pretty well the limit of my support. Well, quite simply, some will some won't. That is, take our advice, use our tools, attend the trainings and learn from their own mistakes.

The top networker and my mentor, Mark Yarnell, said to me "Charlie, in this business we are like lifeguards. We are standing at the end of a pier throwing life rings out to drowning people. Some will grab for them, and some will be too lazy to reach out and flat out drown!"(Mike Dillard is very much like this). He is and I feel I am, an alpha networker.

Secondly, speaking as somebody else's downline. In 3 1/2 years, I have probably only had two or three 3-way calls. My upline has had several training meetings, which I attended. Also, I have never had anybody sponsor placed under me. (I have had plenty of people say "why don't you sponsor somebody for me?". Not saying that I haven't ever sponsor placed someone, sometimes it's not a good practice. You need to have a real plan before you start doing that. If there is a lazy one that doesn't show the business, attend trainings, read books and do things to promote their business, they shouldn't wait for me to sponsor placed someone under them.

Well, here's a scoop. We are all in business for ourselves! Learn your business, constantly improve yourself, start building your list, care for and feed those people on your list, keep them happy and never, ever, ever stop building your front-line.

Last but not least. Some leaders say "you're downline is going to do what you do, just keep on keeping on..." BS! You just have to keep looking for that leader, and in YTB. It only takes one big one to make you Rich forever! New blood, new blood, should I say, new blood?

One other thing while I am on the subject of your upline. If you're waiting for them to share the intimate secrets of how they built their business, don't hold your breath. The reason that you are here in this forum is that you found a better way to build your business than 3 foot rule, Mall walking, chasing car salesman, putting out flyers, and all of the other dumb stuff.

I believe we found the right idea to go out and find people that already know about network marketing. If you look at the greats, you will see very close under them, Other greats from other companies. Very seldom, someone will come along, that has never been in network marketing and go to the top of the charts. Unless, they or someone close to them definitely has found one. Each one of you are in the right place, and listening to the right people. I have seen more help in this forum than any forum on the Internet.

If you're upset with your upline, I suggest a call to them and take this attitude.
Lead, follow or get the heck out of the way! If it is to be its up to me!

Become the alpha networker, not a whiner. Remember what your upline does, or does not do, has absolutely no emphasis on what you can be and what you can earn.

Just keep on rocking and rolling!
(Sorry about some of the worn-out clichés, sometimes there is just not a better way to put it.)

In other words, even if you're highly motivated,

to the present moment..

Now, bring your attention to your breathing and notice
the stillness..That's this Moment, Here, Now..And if
you want to focus rightly, follow your breathing in
to where you want to focus on..That's it!..simple huh?

Please..do not try to replace negative thoughts by
replacing it with positive thoughts..

Here is why...

..Life manifests objects that are the opposite of our
negative thoughts..Now, How is life going to manifest
the opposite without an opposite?..How is Life going
to manifest pleasure without the pain?..

Rmember when we are going through some crappy stuff..
say "oh yeah, these too!" and bring yourself to the
present..Like everything else, it takes a little time
to master it..

I wish I could have explain a little bit better but I
gotta tell you folks, age is finally catching up with
me for the last couple of months so I say "yeah, these
too!"

Personally, something should be done for the masses in
this here net..A lot of those folks spend a lot of money
and are not getting paid..say what?..

Did you know that buying is selling?..Don't you think we
should come up with something? Design some plan and fund
this folks that are trying but..we now know why huh?

Hey!..I've been doing just that most of my business life
when some MLM companies turn down my idea..so I've been
on my own ever since..

P.S. I personally have always used what I call a business
feeder..It accidently happen to me so most of my sign-
ups had an easy way to build their business..I have a
big time business feeder made up of Ezines or Newsletter
that plan on posting later to get people's opinion
on it..
